Since i've come back to the forum, i've noticed a lot of new people here, always a good thing (i miss MeanManFromOZ!! anyone else?? hehe). Anyways, there seem to be a lot of projects starting, and some projects that have been around for a while. Just basically wandering what everyones up to these days. What projects are you all working on, and how complete are they? I'll start. I'm currently working on web based applications (PHP, MySQL), for Southampton University, for administration purposes. I'm looking to start work on Christian Projects once i've finished the things i'm doing at the moment. --D-SIPL |

Yeah, MeanManFromOz did cause quite a stir. (he he he). I have just started a project. A rpg, isometric view, Middle Ages(?), non violent with quests that require heavy interaction with game characters. I will be putting code on my site as I make it. It is all programmed in BlitzBasic. I am halfway through making the map editor. Hopefully next week it will be up on my site at www.revelatorgames.com Revelator! ------------------ |

I'm working on a demosystem for GodCentric. It uses DirectX 8 for graphics, FMOD for sound and a plugin interface to allow each member of the group to develop in the language of their choice. With it we are going to make loads of Christian demos that will spread the good news in the demoscene community ------------------ |

I do not miss MeanMan, but I do miss geekgirl. I wonder where she went. Hmmm, *shrug*. I'm working on a website for the senior high ministry of my church. I dunno if that counts as "programming" though. †Caleb† ------------------ |

holy fire here Im still working on the "Child of the Commander" FPS project. The concept art has had yet another make over, the level structure is more ... structured and as usual the design doc is work in progress. Everytime God opens something new it means a total overhaul! For now I am considering looking for people more in my area to work along side me, this would mean better communication and so on, but any help would be great. I also god word from the guy upstairs about a RPG in similer style to Shenmue about the bible-code dont hold your breathe tho, it wont get any attention from me for a while. God bless |

I miss MeanMan Due to the aspect that we (Two Guys Software) didn't have the money in order to proper fund Revelation, we decided to work on a smaller title (Eternal War: Shadows of Light), release it, acquire the proper funds to fund the project again and start over. We have a very small goal as far as copies sold, so we're hoping we'll be able to reach the goal we've set and start back up on production with Revelation. We've e-mailed several Christian game companies and on the EW CD we're going to add all the Christian game demos that we can. If we surpass the amount of copies we need to be sold, we're considering opening another website to offer free webspace for Christian developers (we're considering the name Christian Game Alliance) to store they're websites/demos. Our vision at TGS is now not only creating Christian games, but also to try and help the Christian game community grow into a proper, mature, formatable alternative to the secular game community with a totally different focus for not only games, but how the community acts and how Christian game companies act towards each other. ------------------ |

Hey guys, we at N'Lightning have gotten with some other Christian product developers and have added them to our on-line store. If any of you have any finished products you would like to add to our store, e-mail me at huck@catechumen.com and I will talk to our guys about the possibility of getting it done. The more we stick together and conglomerate, the better off we'll be I think. |

quote: I completely agree with N'Lightning here, the more we stick together the better chance we have. We should be totally different than the secular gaming realm. If we support each other, help each other, in no matter what way (advice, prayer, etc.) then I believe that we all have a better chance. This is all about how we can reach out to people with The Message. ------------------ |

Right on! Our unity is essential. In fact, I've recently written an article on our need for unity. Krylar should be posting it soon... (nudges Krylar) hint, hint. †Caleb† ------------------ |

If we all take a sit back and observe what is happening here I feel very exited. Look at whats happening here, God is moving, and it's going to be big. I always said that I'm not in this 'coz i want to make a game, I'm in this coz God wants me here. And he wants you all here to, God's planning something new, something big. We all have these dreams these plans, these games to glorify God all of them good and so diverse that it caters for nearly every genre in the gaming market. It's time to get exited saints Gods moving ! |

I think that what Huck said about sticking together is very important. To truelly advance as a group of programmers/artists/developers etc we need to pull together and share our experiences and God given talents. Ian |

I'm also writing a series of articles in C# on image processing for www.codeproject.com, and I also have a WDJ article on GDI+, a CUJ article on image processing and a CUJ article on IOStream extensions to write. I'm also doing some freelance work on an image capture program and on an MFC extension library. |

It's not too bad. With my SoH stuff, most of the code is shared between the subprojects, so it's like I'm killing 4 birds with one stone. It's so close to being done, and it's turning out simply *awesome* - I can't wait to wrap it up and get it on the net. |

I am working on a few things for www.godcentric.com . one... a scripture memory program for christians.. that has a bar in the top of or bottom of the screen that have scriptures scroll accross with various effects, and also speech synthethis reading (optional).. with many different options and scripture packs downloadible (and editible ) from the net... i will put a sample of this on showcase sometime.. the other thing i am working on.. is delphi plugins for rowans awesome demo system... after we use this demo system to produce a high quality demo the demo system will most likely be released open source on sourceforge.. with the above demo system the whole of Godcentric will probably try to get a demo done by easter for mekka symposium http://ms.demo.org/2002/ ... i don't know if we'll have the time to produce a high quality demo in that time... also we will need to pray for the subject of the demo , to get God's wisdom and inspiration in this matter, for we don't want to build a house in our own strength, but have God himself build it.. this demo will definately be evangelical... being easter it will likely center around the death and ressurection of Christ.. another demo that i plan to do for then is mission impossible.. this will be a DHTML ,javascript demo.. so basically pushing the limits of the browser.. and i'll also be doing a 4k intro for that demoparty.. this won't be for godcentric but for my secular demogroup (i am still in it, maintaing the balance of being in the world but not of it).. other than that i'm working on a song that has computerised speech singing synthethis in it.. if we don't get demos ready for Mekka symposium we will most likely release at assembly 2002 in finland in august.. (me and my wife both have wanted to visit finland ... also for mekka symposium , we may not be able to get their physically so we may require a german christian who is into computers to join our group to go there and represent us.. however we are slogging along and praying along.. ------------------ |
