I was just wandering (being a bit new here!!), what projects people are working on. It's just that there isn't much going on in 'Your Announcements' and also in 'Help Wanted'.

I'm just a bit curious!!

I think everyone should share they're problems with what has happened or is happening in their company. We might be able to help you out with your problem. Maybe tell us a little about your past/future/present projects as well.

Hi,

I'm working on a new screen saver and some other misc shareware.

The problem I'm facing is bandwidth: when I release my new saver, based on anaylsis/comparison/past-experience I estimate 5,000 downloads/month off my site. Assuming a 2 Meg downloadable, that totals 10 Gig a month bandwidth, NOT including webpages, other software on my site, or the add on modules for the saver!

I need to find a cheap, good web hosting service. Most local places have limits of 50 MB to 5 Gig per month. The place that has the 5 Gig limit is charging $25/month (which already seems high to me), but I don't know what they'll charge if I go over this limit.

So, my questions:

- anyone have any good, cheap web hosting solutions for me?
- what do web hosting providers normally charge (roughly) for going over their limits?
- am I a tightwad? I mean, if I do get 5,000 downloads/month off my site and only 0.5% (25) people register per month, I'll be making a few hundred bucks. I just don't want to spend a good sized chunk of it just for bandwith.
- do you think my expected numbers are too high, too low, or about right?

Last announcement, I got alittle attitude from a poster, who was a complete stranger to me. Too bad. (scratching my head, perplex)

I am working on a sellable product. I need help on programming (of a platform game), while I work on the music, articles, whatever side of the equation.

Best wishes,

St. cheez

St. Cheez...

Contact me at villarreal_gil@hotmail.com regarding your programming needs for your platform game project. Please be specific about technology considerations, extent of project's design, and why you believe this game is 'sellable'. Look forward to hearing from you...

Hi Pilgrim,

I just emailed you. Hope it was sufficiently enthusiastic to gain your interest. Cross my fingers. Yes, St. Cheez is abit superstitious which is a sin, but I am working on it.

I tend to be an idea person and do fairly well with writing, artwork (sometimes 3d) and music. I have done programming for over 10 years, but its not my topmost strength, but I am willing to do it though.

Best wishes,

St. Cheez

Hi there D! I'm currently working on a 3d shooter-esque game, but I'm currently developing the engine with one other guy. The other guy is a great modeler and also a network programmer, and I'm working on the core modules and the writing. Altogether, it's going fairly well, but of course there's never enough time--either school or sports take a lot of my time... Now what about yourself, are you working on anything at the moment?
