...you're finally going to have some time on your hands to work on those back burner projects, life happens. Literally.

My wife has informed me that we're now expecting our second tax deduction (the first is 9 years old). I am thrilled, of course, but it changes a few things.

Suddenly the guest slash storage room needs to be renovated into a nursery. Not just emptied and cleaned, mind you, but stripped of wall paper and painted with balloons or purple dinosaurs or something equally disgusting. Oh, and put in a new laminate floor while you're at it, dear.

The 9 year old thinks it's only fair that his room gets new paint and a new floor too. After all, he's been with us much longer than The Peanut (his name for the as yet unnamed and genderless baby that is currently, according to a book he read, the size of a goober).

And as long as I'm doing all this, I might as well redo the downstairs bathroom too, right? And maybe we could expand the master bedroom a bit? Ouch. I suspect that by the time the baby arrives I'll have rebuilt most of our house and I'll have started on the neighbor's. Apparently my wife is "nesting", only I'm the one who gets to remake the nest.

But will it end when the baby finally arrives? Will I finally have some spare time? Nope. Sorry. The light at the end of that tunnel is just the train.

See, 4 months ago we purchased a tea room restaurant for my wife to operate, and we have no intention of giving it up, which means I either stay home and change diapers or I put on a frilly apron and learn to make cucumber sandwiches without crusts, easy on the cream cheese please. Since I already telecommute I guess I'll take door number 1.

The biggest casualty in all this, besides my back, hands, and sanity, will be many of my extracurricular software projects. My OpenGL based game engine will gather cyber-dust. My webmail product will languish between minor, trivial updates. And worst of all, I fear that I'll once again have to pack my Christian.net project into a box and store it in one of my newly renovated closets.

PS: Know anyone who wants to buy a good Christian domain name?

Um... either you're joking or you went to the wrong site :-) There's nothing visible on Christian.net except for a brief list of links to other organizations. The real work isn't accessible at the moment.

No, you didn't make me mad, just confused me there for a sec (thought you were joking about it).

Yes, the domain name gets a huge number of hits, even though there's nothing there. Even when it was completely blank for a year or so it got hundreds of hits each day. And I've never even submitted it to any search engines.

What I was working on was a free/cheap email/web hosting thingy along the lines of Yahoo, but aimed at Christian ministries, churches, etc.

Sad to say most Christians want everything free So in my openion that was a bad target to go after. Out of cureosity did anyone want your survess. I used to work and still do from time to time with a Christian Record Company. People wanted conserts all the time but didnt want to pay. The sad thing is that I now know how churchs work. Most of them wrote us off on taxes. If you do a consert and its for free its considerd a bennifit... then the goverment gives you tax brakes. So in my openion im not to happy with churchs at all. Anyways enuff of that. You didnt get to tell me about the price =)
