John chap 4:13 to 24

Man identifies with the Flesh. YHSVH was talking about "feeding" and "drinking" for the soul which is spiritual. He was not talking about feeding and satisfying our flesh body. However, over and over again, people in John were just thinking only about physical food and drink, not in spiritual terms. Are people any different now-a-days? Not in my opinion. They continually identify with their physical self, because that is all they really know; the spiritual side is not recognized.

Actually many people eat and drink quite well now-a-days, but are starving their souls to death in this modern world.

Water is the mother element in the Hebrew alphabet, mum. It is not physical water, but rather spiritual. As I understand it, "water" is closely associated with the idea of "pouring" Holy Spirit in man and thus receiving wisdom and power.

Where is the house of God, Beth-EL? Does God live only in the temple of Jerusalam, on the hill in Samaria? YHVSH said to worship God in Spirit and in truth. Where then exactly was he talking about? A physical house or the spiritual self.

If man is both flesh and spirit, then he may have been suggesting the spiritual self as the house of God, the spiritual self which most folks do not identify with or believe in. Does God live in man? I believe that he does.

Yes, feeding our spiritual self is very important. How many Christians do not allow God and keep Him out because they feel unworthy or believe God only lives in a physical church structure and not really in them? Hard to say.

MeanManInOz, do you have anything to offer in spiritual feeding or do you just like to tell people to read the Bible?

Best wishes,

St. Cheez

I would just like to bring your attention to the fact that YHSVH talked to a woman, fourth chapter. First, she was a woman. As I understood it, teachers did not talk in public to women, particularly a sinner. This is probably the first time YHSVH actually declared himself to be messiah to anyone. In most cases, he would just ask who you thought the messiash was and allowed the person to be inspired by God. Why did he bother to tell this sinful woman from an ostracized land? I should also point out her lowly degraded state of ignorance, yet YHSVH was extremely open to her. He talked to her as if she was human being.

I give for your consideration the idea water, the mother element in hebrew, and the degraded, ignorant state of this woman. Is there a message to this story? Who was and is not recognize by man?

Best wishes,

St. Cheez

The first and foremost thing is that God requires us to worship in Spirit and in truth ( John 4, as it happens ). Once people have the Spirit ( they speak in tongues ), then they can understand the Bible and also live by it. From then on I have a lot of encouraging things to say, but they are of no value to people who have not taken the first step.

As you said "then they can understand the Bible". And, as the Bible states don't hide your light and show your light to the world.
