A girl we know named Gillian (about 23 years old I believe) has always been allergic to oranges. On Sunday she ate lunch in the hospital cafeteria where she works as a nurse. They were using orange slices as garnishes on some plates, and a food worker who had been handling the oranges had also handled the food on her plate. Apparently that trace amount was more than enough to cause a very violent allergic reaction. The doctors gave her adrenelin, but now they fear they may have given her more than they should have. In fact, they are very worried that the adrenelin overdose may have caused damage to the base of her brain! So while she will likely recover from the allergic reaction itself, she may end up with permanent brain damage. At the moment she's still in an intensive care unit. Gillian is a Christian. Mark |

Okay, how about an e-prayer? "God, we ask for your healing power to work in Gillian. If that is not your will however, we know that you cause all things to work for the good of those who love you. (Romans 8:28) We ask that if she does get brain damaged that you will use her to bring hope to other brain damaged people through Jesus. Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name, AMEN!" Do not doubt the power of prayer... †Caleb† |

Thanks Caleb. Update: Yesterday she was in an ICU. This morning they sent her home with absolutely *no* trace of damage from either the allergic reaction itself *or* the adrenelin overdose. Mark |

Halleluyah! This is the sort of thing that makes me wonder how on earth people can *NOT* believe in God! MadProf |
