List down questions about the Christian market (in both games and general) that you have. 1) Why don't we see Christian Mod's and TC's using secular game engines? 2) Why don't we see Christian Cartoons/Dramas/Sitcoms/etc. on TV? 3) Why don't we see Christian Action Figures? (I want my Battle Armour Jesus figure with included Flaming Sword! satan smashing action!) 4) Why don't we see more Christian games? The industry has always been around. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Mack (edited February 23, 2001).] |

I can answer questions 2 and 4. Simple. There are more non-Christians in the world than Christians. Majority rules. TV studios produce shows that the most people will want to watch. And if they don't get shown that the majority of the people want Christian shows, they won't make any. Same idea with the games. †Caleb† |

Oh, ok, I have a question then. Would anyone like to see a good text-based Christian game, that's free? †Caleb† |

I think I and say the reason for 3; Ex:20:3: Thou shalt have no other gods before me. As for the rest I'd go with the majority rules thing |

quote: I think thats a little silly, you don't worship action figures, you play with them, and for: Ex:20:4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth Then every: picture/painting, church decortive statue, jewlery, I could even say movies, games, almost everything depicting anything in a viewable form from the Bible is wrong. If thats true then the Christian industry is screwed over, unless someone called Jesus said for us to reach out and spread the Word to every man, woman, child, etc. everywhere, and a great way to do that is through Christian entertainment. You could include a small mini-comic with each action figure telling about the persons story in the Bible, that would be cool, plus it would be fun for kids/teens/adults to play with. ------------------ |

quote: I don't think anyone could make such a thing and I think that text games died in the very early 90's and later 80's. I know alot of people are hanging on to them for dear life and still making them (just like Bible quiz games and Bible puzzle games), but in all acuality, unless it's a ground breaking super duper awesome text based game (sorta like playing in a book) people are going to pass it by. ------------------ |

Taken in it's literal sence yes, that is what the commandment says, and therefor you would be right, but I think it's ment in the sence like a copyright notice, in other words you can make (x or y) but your not aloud to worship it like a God, lets say for instantants I made a neckless with christ on the cross, and hung it around my nect, in thory I am holding alikeness of Jesus/God, which breaks the commandment, what he was saying I think from my prospective is, do not make any image of me and worship it. We should also look at the events as to before for this commandment also, as to a reason for it's purpose. Moses when up the mountian, and got hold of the 10 commandments, because he was gone so long, the people Moses was leading started to make idoils and worship them instead, when Moses came down to give the 10 commandments to the people, he found them worshiping the gold carf or some such idoil(s) thus Moses broke the 10 commandments and went back up the mountian for another set [This message has been edited by Inner (edited February 24, 2001).] |

You can have your Battle Armour Jesus, but don't worship it, or hold it has something that is of the most high or higher, other wise it would be a sin. but never the less I would let my children play with such a thing. |

Just so this thread doesn't take a century to load I'm just going to link the "Battle Jesus" ad instead of posting it, it's 508k, wait for it to load to get the best results. http://www.twoguyssoftware.com/battlejesusad.gif [This message has been edited by Mack (edited February 26, 2001).] |

When I was young, I used to have david and goliath and Jesus action figures. Now I am raising my own child I can't fathom her playing with the latest Barbie. Surely there should be a christian alternative for them that I can put up till she is old enough. _Freq47 |
