That is fantastic! Not sure if it will necessarily effect software devleopment, but it will certainly open up greater possibilites for the increased bandwidth.

Never Forget to Pray!

"...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer. Pray for prayer—pray till you can pray; pray to be helped to pray, and give not up praying because you cannot pray, for it is when you think you cannot pray that you are most praying. Sometimes when you have no sort of comfort in your supplications, it is then that your heart—all broken and cast down—is really wrestling and truly prevailing with the Most High."
Charles Haddon Spurgeon, from the pamphlet, "Effective Prayer"

It gets pretty difficult to keep up with technology. USB 3.0 does excite me, imagine the speed of the jump drives with the size now. You might be able to back up your whole computer on a jump drive in 5 seconds. zzziiinig.

Since modern operating systems hide devices from the software with various hardware abstraction layers, the only folks that have to worry are the folks who write operating systems. This is really good news. For me, it means that in the future I'll be able to have external USB hard drives that transfer data as fast as an internal SATA drive. That's pretty sweet. I know that there are external SATA connectors, but it's nice to have a widely adopted standard that you are likely to actually find on a laptop. Well, I hope my laptop lives long enough that when I need to replace it, I can get one with USB 3.0 connectors.
