Mind explaining why you don't have write privileges? Likely you're in Windows and you don't have administrative privileges. Mind saying what version of Windows you're using? (Windows XP Home Ed. Windows XP Profession Ed. Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows DOS, Windows Vista (one of 6 packages))

If you would provide this I would gladly help you if I can. Another thing is, are you a child in a parents home, or are you an adult. (not because I want to stalk you or anything, it'll just help me decifer what your situation is.) Another question is, did you set up your OS, or did another. Did you setup the User Accounts?

um, i think that's the point of restricting accounts in windows.. to *not* allow access. I don't think it can be done short of hacking a security hole or something extreme like that.

However, your may be able to create and use a BartPE environment with the program installed there. But, you should really first check if this violates your school acceptable use policy as it might get you kicked out of school for doing it.

i cant boot from cd, though. i need to install but block writes to the registry. maybe write to a mini registry in local dir instead.

a mini registry would only be feasible if the program specifically implemented it (like using an .ini file), not just any standard program that uses the regular windows registry.

It sounds like the school admins really don't want you doing this

Samw3 is a better everything than me (except at being me), so he'll know more. The only thing I got, is perhaps you can check with a school authority. But I've never been to college, so idk anything.

No... I think that, too.

Honestly, tho, if you're going to mess around with the registry, start with your own computer. Schools can paranoid with hacker attacks so messing with the inner workings of computer can lead to unfavorable situations.

Fine, I'll correct that. Samw3 is better at MOST things than me.
