Hey Everyone, Josh here---we are thinking about starting the T-Shirts again and I wanted to do a bit of market research---if we put this shirt up for sale for between 15-17 bucks USD for a male/unisex and 20 dollars for a female-fitted shirt how many of you would be interested?

Do you want to count "no's" as well as "yes's"?

I think I would smile if I saw someone wearing that shirt, but it doesn't line up with my style enough for me to be interested/comfortable wearing it.

I really like the idea of Christian-themed gamer t-shirts though, and I would be interested in buying more of them. I have one that I really like -- it has Pac-Man on a shirt with a couple of the ghosts, and it's captioned with "Love your enemies -- Matthew 5:44".

LOL I like that shirt you have hehe

sure on the Nos and Yeses ---I want feedback in general hehe! It helps us fine tune our products and style----BTW i should probably mention that the image posted here is only a conceptual one---our printer will redo it for us so it will be like 90% similar, but cleaned up a bit---for instance if you look at Jesus' arms VS the swimmers they are different (one is rounded, the other boxy) and things like that will be evened out in the end.

shouldn't that be 'l33t hax'?

i used to wear t-shirts. not too often anymore. But if I did, I would buy a shirt like these.

hmm, I don't know if this is a preliminary design, but that break in the waves bothers me visually. I also don't like the font. I'd do it in Courier or even better, Consolas (I love that font for coding).

But I still like the iconic feel of it. It catches the eye of people passing by.

EDIT: maybe like this.

In Staten Island Weaeing a Christian Themed T-Shirt will get you mocked,beat-up,and even killed. If you thought California was Anti-Christian, S.I. is the Land of Anti-Christian Biggotry.

I did not undertand it at first, but I am an old fuddy duddy who does not know leet speak.

Not sure if the direction is of any importance, but I am not sure which way the Christ figure is supposed to be facing. Maybe add an eye and mouth to indicate direction He is facing. My first guess is towards the swimmer, but sometimes I see Him walking away which is probably not the direction you want. It's difficult to tell which leg is in front. It really depends on how you see the arms. Think of him as scattering seeds for facing left.

Thanks for the feedback all!

A) With Consolas--I am using a Mac--is that only a Vista font? I could switch it for Lucinda Console I think---I might have that, otherwise I have a font called 'White Rabbit' that looks very similar to those too.

B) I never thought about the whole direction facing thing! I kind of like the ambiguity tho--it creates a psycho optical illusion---like have you ever seen that pic of a lady's head that, if you look at it the right way, is actually a duck facing the other way? That is what I thought of when you brought that up hehe! Trev and I traditionally use those generic stickmen because it is our style--we also have one that is Satan and one that is an Angel---and we have a shirt where Angel is kicking Satan in the sweet spot---plus another (never printed) where the Angel and Satan are engaged in a Dragon Ball Z esque fireball battle

C) The break in the water: that is a glitch of this being a prototype design--it won't be on the final one it will be one continuous water piece.---our printer cleans up the errors using Corel Draw and I don't have a vector based program like that unfortunately

D (Edit): That is cool Guatageek is doin' shirts too---I will check out his site soon---I checked out the shirt you are getting looks nice!!

Thanks so much for the input everyone! I am trying to figure out the E-Commerce stuff right now so I can get a page live to sell these shirts with---feel free to post comments and the like and I will do what I can to make the design better!
Josh

Edit Part 2: Here is a change I made using the 'Jesus Has L33t Hax' pic that was posted here--I don't have the font but used the pic to add it in.

I like the idea, but that caption would turn a lot of people off. When they think of hackers, they usually think of criminals. As unjustifiable as that attitude is, I don't think we want to give that impression, no matter how unintentional it might be.

It's sad that so much of the population of the planet is so ignorant to the real meaning of a single word, although I don't think hacker is the only one that cause such mixed definitions.

Well, in this case, the original idea of hacking had to do with someone "hacking", or breaking, their way into someone else's property and stealing valuables that might be there, so the reaction shouldn't be completely unexpected.

Yeah, but we are approaching from a gaming perspective----Jesus hacked reality to walk on water just like how a console gamer hacks to get out of bounds on a map---LOL I say that cause my crew and I are mostly console gamers (actually, the Jesus Hacks idea was mine) so to us hacking isn't actually altering code as much as exploiting current code for funny side effects such as flying and stuff.

That will make it do better, actually. It's aimed toward the gaming/hacker generation. They don't want to be accepted by those ignorant of their subculture, but rather embrace their differences.
besides, most of them wouldn't know what "l33t hax" is, anyways.

Frankly, I love the concept. It shows the dominating awesomeness of Jesus.
He does, in fact, have the l33test hax.

probably could go on and on about Satan being a n00b (or a nub) or how "hez in joor hart, pwning yoor sinz." (sorry, I had to make an LOLCats reference).

I have to hit the "wrong answer" buzzer here. The term "hacking" does not originate from breaking into anything. Let's take a quote from wikipedia "the original meaning of "hack" was a quick, elaborate and/or "jerry rigged" solution,... it was used with hacker, meaning one who discovers and implements a hack."

also this definition of a hack:
"a clever or elegant solution to a difficult problem"

I don't think Jesus would take exception to being called a "hacker," as the term seems to fit. He came up with an elegant solution to our burden of sin, he came and dwelled among us as one of us and died on a cross, the perfect payment for all of our sins. It's particularly clever since his sinless and divine nature made him invulnerable to death, and he rose from the grave (another sweet hack, BTW).
