Hey all! I am in need of some web server suggestions. I need a good and reliable server but one that is also cheap in price. I need at <i>least</i> 500mb of space. PHP support, mysql databases, and all the other extra goodies. Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks! ------------------ |

I assume you mean web space rather than a dedicated or virtual server. www.1and1.com no doubt. They are located in NY, $4/mo package where you can run 20 different websites from the same space, 10GB space with 300GB transfer, php, 10 MySQL’s, 1 ftp and $125 worth in vouchers for ads such as for Google AdWords. The $5/mo package is a bit better if you want your own java chat channel, password protected directories and more space/bandwidth/URL’s. I’ve had a business package for two years and they offer really good support (big company) and have seen very little downtime and even less over the past year or so once they moved the DB server to the US from Germany. They are not resellers, they own their own center and are a leading provider in such services. |

You need to decide the amount of service that you want. If you need a lot of help and are not that good at managing the server, try abuckamegayear.com if you just want ridiculous space at a reasonable price try hostgator.com |
