This post is not intended to offend, but I am aiming to prod the pyweek people a bit. I've seen one day pass with no sort of communication of the members. I think we need to organize our communication methods a bit better before the contest period. We can't afford to let days slip by us.

Good call, insanepoet. I didn't realize that there was need for me to make comments at this point. I went and read your materials as requested. What else needs to happen before PyWeek begins?

Well, there are 2 days until Pyweek begins. So in 2 days we need to be working. We can't be trying to get a hold of one another.

I am going to suggest one time while we all meet on IRC and make the final disicion of what we are making exactly (genre) and then come up with a design proposal. From the design proposals we need to build a design document and then begin coding.

We can't afford to do this administration work during the contest period. We have to be a fully functioning unit by this Sunday.

That's a good point, insanepoet. For what it's worth, we should probably have some rough ideas figured out, but save the decision for what we choose to do until the topic is announced.

You're right, however, it's coming fast!

In terms of the "themes" that are decided for us, they are very general and can be used in any situation. I'm going to suggest we need to have a design document up before Sunday. Come Sunday morning we need..... to go to church... come sunday afternoon, we need to be working, not around trying to figure out what to do.

Btw xian_lee, are you available to chat on IRC now?

Can someone post the IRC again.

Also I voted RPG never coded an RPG - or side scroller for that manner.

Did do a RTS once - and even though that was for a 28 hour competiton I agree it's way to big.

Yes I agree, But some of us work odd hours and it may be difficult.

I added a to do list to the user panel at the CMS. Does anyone think that a private FTP site might be beneficial to the game?

Umm... yeah I think that both SVN and FTP would be a good idea. The SVN details should be released around 4PM EST.

So far as I know, I've connected to server and channel as necessary, but I'm not sure how to join the chat. Any help would be great. As you can probably guess, I haven't a clue as to how to use IRC. (By the way, I'm using ChatZilla as recommended.)
