I know it's a bit late considering we're already into February but for the last month and a bit I've been receiving the Bible in digestible 4 chapter chunks every morning via email. I find it great, check it out;

good idea, but I prefer to read out of a book.
Last time I had bible verses emailed to me, I ended up just ignoring them.
which probably explains why my forum was smited with spambots, but yeah.

anyhow, I really should pick up my bible reading.

Personally I use biblegateway.org to read "The Message" since I don't have that one at home. The Message comes accross to me so much easier than the NIV.

I personally can't stand the Message.
Too much put on a person's interpretation.

I'm glad that works for you. For me, it probably wouldn't matter whether I read it out of a book, or on email, or RSS. I still do read it though.

Speaking of which, that "Bible on DVD" commercial that's on TV all the time annoys me to no end.

I think I'll stick with the Book version... although my Bible seems to have disappeared this morning- maybe I put it in my closet yesterday.

*opens the closet and is buried under an avalanche*

Ohhhhhhh... Ow... Oh, there it is.

Good but what I have learned is that while reading certain amount of chapters every day is good so that you wont stop reading, the reading shouldnt be limited in anyway because when reading in understanding you may want/need to read much more than that. Or sometimes you may gain much by mediating on just couple of chapters, or verses, keeping in mind that the whole word is the truth.

May God bless your reading moments!

Matthew(22:36-40)"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
