Hi, my first thoughts about that letter is that just because people dont want to accept God but live their selfish lives and are condemned at the last day doesn't mean we are guilty of their blood if we dont run around in the streets 24/7 preaching. That's why Jesus gave us the command to teach all nations and babtize them.

Mat 28:19 KJV Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

But.

Mat 22:9-14 KJV Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. - 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. - 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: - 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. - 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. - 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

I am sure God can give you understanding you need to have so that you can trust His rightneuses judgements and understand His grace, just read the word Brother.

The thing is that everything is in the Lord's hand and God is good. But people tend to have selfrightneuses. I highly recommend reading Job, he accused God of being unjust but was proven to be wrong.

God bless.

Lol, personally I find that letter hilarious, that an atheist would criticize a Christian for not preaching. So when we're not preaching the Gospel we're inhumane for letting everyone go to hell, but when we are preaching we are religous basket cases? LOL.

That's a good point LAVA!

I've been to that site quite a bit in the past, and I've read that letter as well... I hope the letter awakens those Christians who are sleeping in the light, to the fact that getting the Gospel across to the lost is more important than making their lives as comfortable as possible.

But also we need to be a witness in our everyday lives. We have to trust in God, obey Him, and do what He's called us to do, but also have patience in all circumstances, trusting that He wants them saved too. Reading the gospels, you'll see that Jesus was never in a hurry...

We better trash our idols if we want to be
In the army of the Lord
And the greatest idol is you and me,
We better get on the threshing floor

Amen. It's can happen so easily though - at least to me - that we start living in the flow of this world forgetting Gospel in our every day lives.

But that's just one reason why reading Bible and praying every day is important.

I think one of the easiest things to forget is that witnessing doesn't mean bludgeoning people on the head with scripture. In some cases it means directly talking about Jesus straight out. In most cases I've found the best way to witness is by example. If you are truly in the Lord and want to witness the truth of Jesus then you have found joy in that, no matter your situation. This shows to others. In fact it shows even more when you're in a bad situation and you still express the joy of the Lord. This has such a profound effect on people and intrigues them rather than driving them away. It's always important to realize the best way to reach each individual person and to recognize their is no canned way to do so. Jesus took this approach, he was a very personable and considerate person. Not affraid to share the truth but he reached people on a personal level that they could see and relate with. It's similar to being a leader. Leadership is about finding the proper communication method for each specific person. Finding the best way to work with a person. Not force a generic work method upon them.

ad hominem. Proving a person's shortcomings does not prove their points invalid or incorrect.
honestly, sounds like another atheist smart***.

yeah Lava pointed out what I was going to say. it's a catch-22. if we do not say anything, we're neglecting mankind and being criminals. but when we do say something, we're insane religious crackpots.

he said we should be going mad in the streets because of their blindness.. yeah, that would work. we're not considered crazy enough already...

good points matt. an example is always a good form of witnessing.

also I think we do have to realize that the Bible says that it is the Holy Spirit who draws the person. we are just there to get the message to them. it's not us. of course there are ways you should or shouldn't witness, but in the end it is the Holy Spirit, and they may or may not listen. and too much scripture can frighten a nonbeliever. just talking about what Jesus did for them is always a good way. also I like what Kirk Cameron and... this other guy whose name I can't remember... they do this show where they go around and talk to people on the street. basically they choose 3 commandments. Thou shalt not lie, thou shalt not steal, and thou shalt not commit adultery. and they ask them one at a time if they have ever done any of those things. they explain to them, of course, that even lusting after a woman in your heart is to commit adultery. most of them say yes to at least 2, of course all of them say yes to the lying one. and after each one, they say, 'so what does that make you?' and they answer, of course, a liar, or and thief. or an adulterer. and then they explain that God says even one of those is enough to keep you out of heaven. and that they are guilty of three. and then they explain about how Jesus died for them and that they can accept that and be forgiven. and of course they ask them to pray the sinner's prayer. I personally think this is a very good method for witnessing.
