very cool!! how many people would you guess were there? and do i need 3d glasses for this one?: |

There weren't quite as many people there as last year -- I would guess 70-80 people (I think somewhere around 73 registered). The lower attendance was likely due to the fact that it was at a new time of the year, and that there wasn't as much time between when the conference was announced and the conference took place -- not because of any drop in interest in Christian games. Tim and Charlie and all of the others did a fantastic job of organizing this event -- I had a wonderful time, and can't wait 'till next year! --clint |

"Progress 21 guy"? That's Jerry Moore, of classic Sierra adventure gaming fame! Oh, and hi everybody! I was there, too. I think maybe you can see me in a couple of the pictures...And there's a video floating around of HanClinto and I playing Dance Praise...Heh. Nathan, is that you? Welcome to CCN!!! I think that Dance Praise video is hilarious. You do awesome in there -- you're just chugging along and I'm dropping stuff left and right. Shows us who the real pro is. For anyone who's interested, you can find the video right here. Yeah, Jerry Moore is a bit of a hero to my wife and I. BTW, I posted what few pictures of the conference that we took. You can find them all here: We recorded 3 of the different talks (I'm missing the beginning of Peter Fokos's talk, but I think the others are complete): They are all in .ogg format. We own a legal MP3 encoder (Cool Edit Pro), but unfortunately it's not wanting to run under WINE so I can't encode these things into MP3 -- Ogg Vorbis will have to do! If you get the Ogg Vorbis Directshow Filters then you can play Ogg Vorbis files directly in Windows Media Player with no hassle whatsoever (it's what I use). C-y'all! Uh, yeah, Jerry Moore, that's what I meant! There, all taken care of.:-) (There was a Jerry Shaw who worked on those games, also.) Thank you for correcting me on the name. As for the content of the video, well, I don't think I could have done that with clubs! [This message has been edited by Mallak (edited May 24, 2006).] |

BTW, just to help introduce Nathan to everyone else, he is a game developer who works with mobile games at a company called Super Happy Fun Fun. He showed me a few of the cell phone games he was working on -- they're loads of fun (super HAPPY fun at that!). Things like multiplayer whack-a-mole and a colorized version of Dark Castle ported to run on a cell phone. Very cool stuff! I found him a really neat guy to get to know and hang out with (if you can tell from the video, I think we had fun). Welcome to CCN! Thanks for the intro and the welcome! Yes, we did have fun. I'm looking forward to poking around in the corners and finding out what's going on over here at the CCN. BTW, for anyone who hasn't met Clint, he really is a cool guy, and we share a surprising number of similar interests (not that that means much since you probably don't know me either. ) |

Ohhh Nathan the happy happy fun fun guy Dude those mobile games are really really immersive, I loved the way you used the camera in that marble game. Time to post some Axys screens... Look at that, Clint's juggling It was pretty cool to watch you guys play dance praise and juggle at the same time. I've made 1 movie of CGDC but am waiting to see if I may upload it or not... Haha -- those rocks were heavy. John DeMargheriti was juggling rocks too -- he was joking and calling juggling big rocks like that "ninja juggling" from the danger of dropping one of those puppies on one's foot. It was just beautiful out on the beach -- hopefully more people can come next year. Everybody really enjoyed playing Axys Chronicles at the CGDC! It's hard to believe that David Lancaster is still a teenager (you're not 20 yet, are you?), yet was able to be the lead programmer on a project that's nearing the end of beta and looks like it's going to ship. How cool is that? Shipping a title -- I haven't even finished a game, much less shipped it. I'm really impressed by all the work that David, Peter and Brandon put it on that. I'm looking forward to putting it through some heavy testing here soon! In Christ, |

Clint I'm 21 :P Will be 22 this year... When you were talking about John DeMargheriti referring to Big Rocks I thought you were going to make a humourous reference to Big World :P Thanks Clint I really appreciate your kind and uplifting words |

Clint what is that forum you recommended to me at the conference? |

Ah, sorry for the mixup on age there David. I hope you take it as a compliment... or... something... The two forums that I recommend to people are this one and GameACE (the semi-"official" forum of the CGDC). Cheers! In Christ, [This message has been edited by HanClinto (edited May 26, 2006).] |
