I heard this real story at church a few weeks ago:

There was a Missionary who worked in India for about 40 years. He finally started home aboard a ship. And when the ship came to shore, he noticed that there was a lot of people gathered there. He thought they had come to welcome him back! But he soon discovered that the Vice President was on-board the ship as well, and the crowd was there to meet him.

He got discouraged, and said to God. "I've given 40 years of my life to the service of being a Missionary... and yet, no one is here to welcome me." Then God said to him: "You aren't home yet."

How is that a story? That a missionary was on the same ship/plane/whatever as someone famous, and wanted some acknowledgement for his sacrifice?

Isn't that just how everyone feels sometimes, wanting some recognition for their personal actions?

Sometimes desire for that may arise but Jesus teaches that we should not take reward from men because our Father who is in heaven will pay us.

Yeah I know I've felt that way many times. I think we should definitely recognize those who have done good things. But the moral of the story I guess, was that if we feel discouraged at times, and no one notices us, that God sees us, and knows our works, our hearts, and He will reward us

EDIT:
Hi Emma, I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you are referring to...

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.
O Lord , you preserve both man and beast.
How priceless is your unfailing love!
