Later on watching more TV I saw this news report on ET about Jessica Simpson. Well, her video was basically porn as well. Then they showed her in church at a younger age singing for the choir... I nearly broke into tears at this sight. And what was even worse was that her own father tried to make excuses for her new music video! He said things like "This is between her and God, the rest of the world is just going to have to deal with it." and "She isn't trying to be sexy like a playboy model, she's just dancing around like her sister or mother would do at home." I mean, come on now... who is he kidding?

Basically today all types of media are bombarding us with sexual images, songs, posters, commercials, billboards on the highway, sex shops, just about everything! A small but powerful church in the inner-city of Kansas City MO, is going to be shut down this month... (unless a miracle occurs.) Wanna know why? The owner of the property is going to destroy the church building and build a porn shop in the same place! Also, the reports about the sexual attacks that I hear on our local news station get worse everyday... this seems to growing exponentially! What can we do to counter this? We can pray of course, and should do so. We should also take some sort of action... I really don't know how, but this has gotten much to far out of hand...

Do not merely dismiss these individuals as "selling out" or whatever it may be phrased as, as that would be adding evil to evil; pray for them vehemently. Brandon, I think we can all relate to the "depression" society can instill in the heart of Christians. We really do need to fight against it and the suggestions put out are good ones, they just have to fall into action. The boycott might seem unrealistic because the word boycott connotates this massive ordeal where businesses lose tons of money based on immoral practice or political enmity, but think of how Christianity even started... 13 people... which really started as one. So go for it, reach out and act on what are really your Christian "instincts." Don't buy that product that advertises with flesh or some other sinful means. Someone asks why, tell 'em the Truth. If they agree cool; if they think you are crazy then at least they know your ideology and so they have been made conscious of the Lord's Name and we are one step closer to saving the world.

As for Jessica Simpson and her family. Her father Joe was a protestant pasture which as you see many interpret the bible the way they want. Well the father knows that sex sells in this society. When compromised always compromised to the point you do not recognize it. Christianity will be twisted to be more of an atheist’s preference than what God wants and people will die for it just because of the name and not for the original meaning.

As for society they say if you do not like change the channel, but now it is if you do not like do not watch TV, and if you do not like what society offers go some where else, and if you do not like that this society is imposed on everyone then too bad live with it. As we see people become desensitized and pushed and encouraged to do what society wants people to like. You can go to another country but the US will bomb the hell out of it to be more like it and call it freedom. This is not freedom we have in society since we have no choice but to see it everywhere we turn our heads.

The media is in a war against morality, so we have to fight back against (those elements of) the media.

For starters, there's American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, and Morality in Media. They all have some ways to participate in taking action. But that's just the start; definitely more is needed and people should think of other ways besides just the ones that a few big ministries and org's call for.

Who's in charge of the media? A lot of people with good morals evidently didn't try to get into the field and dominate it. Maybe more young people with morals should try to do that.

If I was rich I would start a local broadcast TV station, seriously.

But about what to do in the short term, it needs all-out activism. Boycott is good but it needs to be really well promoted (I think one of those orgs I mentioned has already been warning about this commercial for a while). But those orgs still aren't getting enough results. Large numbers of people have to complain and protest to the companies (Hardee's for a start, and they are the tip of the iceberg), to the stations, etc. Picket the company with signs--that would get some attention. If there was a big budget--take out TV and magazine/paper ads encouraging people to save the culture and visit a website to take action. Letters to the editor--those are free.

Activism takes money and/or time. Churches would have the resources to do something, though, if they are motivated to do that kind of action. If a church or other established group boycotts a company, that's a numbert of people already and if those people inform their friends/family, then it can grow. (A group also needs to write and let the company know they are being boycotted and why, otherwise it's not so effective.) Churches could organize a good picket or protest too.

Those are some ideas. (I'm an activist.)

Protesting against a company can not work since they give what the majority want. If 1 million people want shows like sex in the city, or games like GTA I do not think that 900,000 people will make a difference since the majority want it. The problem is to change how people in society act. It almost seems like a sinking ship.

The problem is that the ones that have power are not mostly Christian or at least not real Christians. You have atheists like Ted turner, or secular Jews which they admit they help make the porno industry, rap industry, how fashion, and entertainment in how it is today.

In India they have some standards. They do not allow kissing on TV and most of the movies or all are for the entire family unlike US how everything from movies, TV, music, and other forms of entertainment is being degenerated for money. Like Christ said the root to all evil is money.

that might be one of the scriptures. i do believe things will get worse, that is sin will abound more and more until Christ's return. the majority of the world(well those who are part of the world) will be married and given in marriage according to Jesus Christ. i believe the world will be going about their daily lives when the end of time comes, and only the Christians will be vexed by the state of the world.
