Nature is very good at telling stories.............

There is a species of bamboo called Dendrocalamus giganteus - one of the giant bamboos. After being planted, it does not show any apparent signs of growth for several years.

However an enormous amount of activity is occurring underground. The bamboo builds a large network of roots before ever showing any visible signs of life! Once it is happy it has a stable foundation it starts growing - at a rate of between 2 and 3 feet per day!! If you watch carefully they say you can see it growing. Within a few weeks the plant has reached its full height of over 100 feet.

The moral of the story is that you don't always need to be seen to be active to be achieving. Sometimes I guess we are all looking for quick, tangible results to show we are adding value, when this may actually hamper our chances of long term stability and growth. God may want to build your roots first.

I like this story, I might bring it to my friends at school.
