I am at a small crosspath "Cute VS Real Personas". Im modeling out characters but I'm not sure what would be better. So I dicided to ask you peeps. If your going to play a game do you like cute or realistic characters best? If you could give reasons why please.

I like cute, because

a/ I equate it with the Mario series, the best games ever written

b/ It allows you to give them imaginative powers without stretching 'reality'

c/ They're never gonna look real, so why bother trying

d/ It makes it seem more fun to me, somehow.

e/ People in the Bible belt are less likely to burn CD's of your games if they look cute :P

I believe it depends on the story you plan to use this character in. If the story is light-hearted a 'CUTE' style would be good. If the story is of a more serious nature then I would go with a more realistic approach.

I agree with this, however I feel like we should explore new areas as well. A serious game, with cartoon-like characters would be interesting. A lighthearted game, with realistic characters would be interesting as well. It depends alot on the designer, and how they wish to protray the game.

I was thinking that the bace character could be used for a kerby game, then maybe an Final Fantacy game. Games like that are often better when they have humor. Still I guess it going to take some more thinking.

Tanks for the input mates

We have Angel and ArchAngel, now all we need is Cherub and Seraph.

I have also been known as BloodChild, Toy19, GothicClown, 1SickLittle, and many others. I stick to Angel because its what my wife calls me. Its become my second name and in some cases my first name.

yeah.
I could go by Paladin (which I define as a soldier of Christ, ya know)

Or I could by Bean... which alot of my friends call me. It comes from String-bean. I'm on the taller side.

And no, I don't really know Angel. maybe I do... hmmm...

Later!
