We have some long-time friends in Israel that are missionaries and we had not heard from them in a while. Well, the other night we got a call from the Pastor of their parent church here in CT. They are fine and safe. They just have not had working phone lines for quite some time and have been "laying low" just because in that area (pisgat Ziev (sp?) Jerusalem) Christians are so hated by Muslims and often frowned upon by the Jews as well. He said they are flying back to the states at the end of the month and will be spending some time with friends there at their parent church, but he also said they wanted to come visit us in the early part of August, because they had something really important to talk to us about before they head back to Israel.

Now the Pastor would not tell me what it was they wanted to talk to us about, even though I think he knows. But IMHO anytime somebody tells ya that, it is never something good they want to talk to you about. So I am
scratching my head over this one and wondering what I did now?

Regardless, will be nice to visit with them. They have only met Kate (the first daughter we adopted), they have never met Missi, Julie or Frannie (our other adopted daughters). They had a little girl a couple of years ago that we haven't met either, that we are looking forward to seeing, especially since we are her God parents. The best we have done the past couple of years is trade pictures via email.

Please keep them in your prayers for their safety and their safe trip here, and their safety her in the US (Still violence here against those who look middle-eastern). These are very dear friends, who I met through my wife who has known them for over 20 years. These are really good people who work with the homeless over there, as well as run an underground church.

I will be honored to pray for your friends. It sounds like they are doing good things. I will also keep you and your family in my prayers as well. I am very glad you are able to visit with people you care so much about. Enjoy this time with your friends and may God bless and keep you all.
