something i've observed in my own life and in histroy and in the church..

We see the scripture through our own eyes with our own understanding through the murky glasses of our culture and experience..

However the Holy Spirit moving in us , and the renewing of our mind by Christ does the opposite, allow us to see ourselves and our culture through the very clear glasses of scripture..

a scary thought, because our preconceptions, comfort zones, mindset
all go out the window and we are faced with decision and paradigm shifts..

very scary, but absolutely neccisary.. and we are safe in Christ, as we abide in Him and let him do the transforming of us..

Sometimes it has been very scary to be in scripture and get a revelation about it, then think about its appliation, and realise that my culture including me anad other christians think this way, and are completely blind about something..

BUt alas this journey on earth with Christ is a challenging one, yet fulfilling.. as we submit totally to him, we learn to trust him more, and have a complete joy..

thats all.. just thought i'd rant my thoughts of the moment here

a practical example that is distant enough and solid enough to use as an example is this..

many people find it difficult to see God how he is, as their Father, if people haven't had a loving real life father relationship.. it is hard for them to comprehend God's fathership .. and though they may believe in their head that "God loves you with a passion" their heart says "that is only for other people, he doesn't really love me that much, look at me, look at the crap in my life, how can he love me"..

yep, the Holy SPirit can take those life giving words in the bible and make them living to you, and you can accept Christs love, and slowly or quickly get changed.. and learn to accept God and see him as a Father, and be able to trust in HIm in such a deeper way..
