Well I keep saying I liston to all stiles. No one has gotton much proff out of me so I am going to post a list of the bands I liston to. AmyGrant That isnt all of them... ^_^ but im sure you get the point. All Christian and of many diffrent stiles of music. I will have to say that I only liston to the old MxPx stuff. They were great Christian Punk Rock but their new stuff was too much "I aint got a chick" music so I dropped them. I still keep their old stuff Its worth listoning too. Some of these bands you wont be abile to find. They are underground and I know them cuz I met them at Christian concerts. Some of the others are now retired cuz they were on the road so long. Steve Taylor is one of them and also Guardian. I have alot of there cds! Anyways thats my list. ------------------ |

Do yourself a favour and check out Larry Norman and the Resurrection Band ( now called Rez). Don't worry, neither sings about speaking in tongues :-). Rez have a double live album that is an excellent starting place. I seem to recall Bride had a song on a compilation called Heavy Righteous Metal or something - for once the Internet has let me down and I cannot find the title. Do you know what the song was called ? It had a decending G-0F#-E riff ( I learned it ) and it ruled. The album sucked though. |

I used to liston to the Rez band. Considerd oldschool music now or should I say praise and worship almost. My dad still has tapes but I cant copy tapes to my cpu. I wish I could get ahold of an old Kieth Green cd. Then White Heart was cool. ^_^ All old stuff to me thow. Anyways I dont know the song you mentioned unfortunently. Wish I did Oh ya Michile Sweet is from striper. I think he was the lead singer and his new cds are great. Wish I could get some Petra too Wish wish wish... but hard to find or for right now I cant afford any. ------------------ |

Old school I can see, but praise & worship ( makes them sound like something you sing on sunday ) They to me are a bluesier ACDC with gutsy lyrics. 'Love Comes Down' is the riff from Whole Lotta Rosie, for a start. Not starting a fight, just voicing my (over the hill) opinion. :-) Thanks anyhow, I might try and get the California Metal tape again so I can hear the song. You *can* mp3 tapes, you just need to rip them to the PC first. Most soundcards nowadays are good enough to do it through the audio in. |

Angel, if this helps, it's off the first album (tracklist: Evil That Men Do and contains the words 'PRaise God in His sanctuary, praise Him for His might acts. Give thanks to the living King, don't ever turn your backs'. That's all I can remember. |

Finally, there's some bands I've actually heard of in Angel's list! Good ones too. Skillet, Newsboys, DcTalk, SuperTones, ect. Angel, I have a bunch of songs by Keith Green and by Petra on my computer. My family owns a few of their albums, so I managed to get 'em on mp3. Are you interested? Only problem is copyright stuff. But you said you have them on tape, right? So it should be okay if you get an mp3 copy too. Here are the Petra songs I have: Right Place As for Keith Green, I have all the songs from the "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful" album. Then I also have the song "The Sheep And the Goats" from an album I can't remember the name of. Anyway, just let me know if you're interested and I'll post 'em on my website for you to grab. †Caleb† ------------------ [This message has been edited by imsold4christ (edited January 28, 2002).] |

Sorry about the comment of them being praze and worship Oz. You gatta relize thow that I have been to Christian Biker churches. They use stuff like that for there praize and worship. I am really after 2 songs. Bullfrogs and butterflys from Green and God gave rockNrole to you from Petra. Then there is one other song im after but I cant remmber the name and its from Degarmo and Key. I still cant remmber that one song Oz. Wish I could but its not on any of my cds. Sorry... Dont worry about putting the songs on your web page ^_^ I will probably get them off of Morphios. Music is the only thing I ever get from it. Reason being that I am broke and no one carries thows cds were I live. If I want the cd I have to drive about 2-3 hours away and I dont have a car at the momment. Messed up I know but oh well it will get better. Have to go my wife wants to check some stuff on the net. Oh ya and I love Gulactic Cowboys. They are wild! God Bless PS I didnt go by all the names cuz I mostly only remmbered qustions / answer stuff... ------------------ |

Is that the same God gave rock n roll to you that KISS covered ? Thanks for trying to think of that song, I'll find it while I am away, I'm sure. It ruled, it was one of the only good songs on that tape. At the time, anyone who knew how to get a distorted guitar sound was signed for a Christian metal labum. |

i listen to a wide variety of christian music, also some secular, but i be careful about the secular music... i believe music is very spiritual... i use selcular music , how i do modern movies, i will not let myself feed off them, not let them be junk food to my soul, but learn from them, use them as eye openers to the culture that i live in... points to touch base on when witnessing/being friends to non christians.. often you can point out a theme in a movie, or lyrics in a song and it can spark a conversation about spiritual matters.. anyway thats how i live IN THEORY.. its a hard balance - to be in the world, but not of it.. sometimes i find the time i spend with non christians has influenced me more than I them.. God Bless ------------------ |

I used to have probs with that... but now im so hardcore into Christian it drives everyone mad Basicly now I know about that music cuz I here it when im around some people but other then that I dont know anything about it. I have to stay away from ICP and Korn. I can latch onto the kill everyone thing real easly. Then there are the consepts of abuse that they sing about and I can understand there views real easly... I wont suport them however. ------------------ |
