I've been asked by my goverment to take part in a Census, for some reason I can't understand why, but I think personally I shouldn't sumbit it's information what do you think? |

Hmmm. Citizens of the US are required to take part in the census or else pay a fine (or even prison terms), yet the census turnouts are still not high. I've heard that many of the people did not fill out the last census because the questions were either redundant (asking for your Social Security number) or way too personal. As it turns out, no one gets fined or imprisoned because they don't fill out the census form, but this is just for the States. I'm pretty sure that things might be different in New Zealand. My suggestion would be to investigate what type of questions are going to be on the census, the penalties, if any, for not returning a completed census, and anything else that you might be concerened about. Also God's Spirit does lead us and is well able to guide us :-) so you might want to also pray about it if you're still not sure after investigating the census. joeG |

thanks I shall do that don't want to get fined or put in jail, the only thing that justifies it is that it isn't the mark of the beast, but it's pretty invasive... |

It is a bit invasive, but last time I saw a census (in Australia) there were only a few questions I wouldn't want to answer. I urge you to have a think about why they are doing it, rather than just not participating because you think its rude. Governments do it to get a picture of their population so they (and every other group in the country) can make educated decisions from that statistical data. Like 10% of the population earn this much money, and can't eat, so we need to bump up funding in that area, etc etc. Statistics are funny things, take this rather silly made up example: sample a large bunch of people, and you can deduct that on average people who own yellow cars earn more money than those who own blue. Hmmm. time for me to buy a yellow car me thinks Census' (or is that Censii? ) are expesnive things to run, but they aren't done just to annoy or upset you, they actually have a purpose I'm not saying what you should do, just trying to bring a different perspective into things.
