Hey, I'd like to know what kinds of things would you include in a game design document. It would be nice to have an all inclusive list that someone could pick and choose from to suit their game. Or to think "Ah, I didn't think of that!" and flesh things out more. ------------------ |

I usually start with an overall summary, storyline, tech details (programming language, engine etc etc), interface design, level design and goals etc etc A good framework to start from is Christ Taylors (Dungeon Siege) Design Doc. ------------------ |

This is a great guide to study from! Thank you for sharing this! There was another one I found a while back that was really good. The name of the Design Document was Broken Facade, I think. It was for a Klonoa-style game, but it went in-depth about things you needed to have. [This message has been edited by arissa_nightblade (edited October 17, 2007).] |
