I'm trying to make the most compact movie I can while still having good quality. I'm curious if I should create a program which plays the already existing AVI and take frame by frame of the movie, and save it as an image to create an animation of which I'll use with the stars background and the sound also within the program, or if I should have the sound in the program and have the AVI seprate, or if I should have both the sound and the AVI together in a video.

Why not convert it to .wmv format in Windows Movie Maker? That usually gives small sizes(for me at least) while still having good quality.

Ok, I've looked at the stats for .wmv. I can either include the music and have it play, or have just the movie and it won't make a difference size wise so I need some help on that.

I can choose the 1.0 mbps bit rate in 640x480 with 30fps and get 10.99 MB of space, or I can choose the 556 kbps bit rate in 640x480 with 30fps and get the 5.95 MB of space, or I can choose the 1.0 mbps in 800x600 (full screen resolution) with 25 fps and get 84 MB of space, so I'm not sure which to go.
