I'm looking for volunteers to help with Star Wars Republic Strife 3d. It will be the advancer, and 3d version of Star Wars Republic Strife. By Advancer I mean it will include some aspects that the original lacked, like multiple enemies. It will be in 3d, but the tools used may differ later, current plans are BM with the Mini3d Library, however, B3d is also a possibility, a tiny possibility that is soo unlikely that I highly doubt it is TGE, and then even less likely, C++ as I know barely enough to maybe make a replica of the Original SW: Republic Strife 3d. My hopes is to make the stats simple, yet purposeful, and making small levels, but infinate interaction. However, I don't expect this to happen, and just hope to create at the least a 3d version of the original with no advancements. I'm hoping to find 1 other coder, an item and player modeller, a building and interior modeller, and a leader/guider. Right now I'm just a coder, and small part leader. I'm also a designer. However these are just my hopes. I don't really care how long, just any help I'll accept. If you require more information I'll give it. Idealy I'd like more than the above as well as a Image creater, and sound creator. There will be no reward other than experience gained, credits in the game, and a game for others to play. I'd also like someone to host this if/when its done. ------------------ I reserve the full right to change my views/theories at any time. |

Have you looked at Lite-C? http://www.conitec.com/english/gstudio/litec.htm |

If you could commit the whole game to DarkBASIC and provide me with the models and other media to work with I might be able to program for you. I'd have to squeeze it inbetween my college classes and work but I might be able to make it work. www.darkbasic.com ------------------ |

I'm not getting your point Captain. Ereon: Right now all I have is the start of the opening video for media. Thanks for the offer, I'm quite impressed that you'd do that. ------------------ I reserve the full right to change my views/theories at any time. |

Wouldn't you encounter major copywrite issues with "Star Wars" ------------------ |

I wouldn't think so, if it's a fangame. Like there are many Commander Keen, Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog fangames made without a problem. Now if he sold it there would be a big problem. He could always encounter a problem even not selling it, if LucasArts \ Lucasfilms isn't apathic about it, but then they could not care at all, like Nintendo, Sega and id Software seem to not. Mene-Mene, are you sure you shouldn't be the leader \ guider? One time in a thread asking for help, I remember Steveth saying that it's best that the brainchild of the project be lead coder, and I agree with that, which I think you are lead coder, but I think you should be the leader \ guider because you're the only one who knows what you want out of the team, as long as you don't ask for impossible demands I think you'd do just fine. Just some thoughts [This message has been edited by LAVA (edited April 24, 2007).] |

Lucas is surprisingly generous with their license. They turn a blind eye to fan films so long as no money is being made. I would tend to think that they would do the same for fan games. EDIT: I'm busy with a lot of other stuff right now, so I can't get very involved in the project. The only thing I could really do, if you even need/want it, is make sure that things aren't breaking established canon. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Xian_Lee (edited April 24, 2007).] |

Insane Poet: I would if I were trying to sell it, however www.swcombine.com was successful, as well as http://www.addictinggames.com/flashwarsstarwarsgame.html . So I figure if both were fine, I'd be fine too as I'd like to make this free. LAVA: I've never leaded a game besides one with one friend which didn't really turn out. Secondly, I don't know much about 3d coding. But I could try if I had someone guiding me along.' It'd be awesome if you could help. Xian: I'm going to be breaking EU, and possibly a bit of movie as there will be battle droids hopefully. Anything you could do though would be nice. ------------------ I reserve the full right to change my views/theories at any time. |

Alright, it looks like I might get a human model wrapped up. I'm looking for B3d programmers, B3d Owner, or Skilled 3d Programmers willing to learn a new language. I guess I'll be the leader and designer, but I'd love it if you added your input. BTW, BM won't work out, due to the fact Mini-3d misses a function I need. Jari actually got his model from a blender placement, so the model might work out. I still need: This is ideal. Its possible for me to fill all of these roles except for sound, but the game would look pretty bad. Lava: You're actually one of my targets. Do you know B3d? Anyway, if you don't, you'd work great as a modeler. As for my targets, I'd like Realm Master for a Subdesigner. You've got a lot of Juice in you, and good ambition. I'd also like Xian_Lee, you're good at facing a problem from another view, you may turn out as a programmer, or a sub-designer. Ideally I'd also like HanClinto to help with models, and his team glueing, his programming, and his awesomeness. lol. He's just good, though mostly just models. (You're orc guy caught my eye) Anyway, that's my hopeful list right now, I know I'm triple posting, but I'm updating! Check out my worklog too. Shouldn't be too hard to find, as its pretty much the newest, and only active one. ------------------ I reserve the full right to change my views/theories at any time. hehe... aww... I'm flattered and all, but a bit too busy atm... I've got several of my own projects running in parallel (including a 3D Engine (C++/DirectX9.0c) project I’ve been working off and on for nearly a year now.), and work is a bit flat out as we approach release at the end of this year for Fury. Any spare time goes into QA'ing Rebel Planet Creation games... ------------------ |

I would like someone to handle a female model for me. At my young age, I'd rather not experience a naked female, digital or not. I'd prefer not exaggerated, and clothed if possible. I'm not sure how this would work. ------------------ I reserve the full right to change my views/theories at any time. |

quote: Anyone is welcome to use the low-poly, cartoony, pre-rigged, clothed, and modestly-sized female model that I made for my isometric game example. The source Blender file is listed in the thread, and includes a rigged cartoony male model as well. Sorry, I don't have time to put more work in on these at the moment, but perhaps it would be a good start for someone. --clint |
