does anyone know of any tutorials for gimp on making glass icons? i can only find them for photoshop cs. i have ps elements, but you cant do the stuff in that like you can in cs. ------------------ |

Well it looks to me like your using 2 colors of blue, rather than white. Do the same as what you did, only use a lighter color. It wants to be somewhat transparent, but make a gradient: White on the top, and the yellow-blue color on the bottom. I think the problem is you just plopped the yellowy onto the circle, without making a gradient. ------------------ |

I think also the gloss or shiny part should be sharp, so it looks like a clean glass-like gloss, unless you're going for the dull brass look. ------------------ |
