This is an old link, but it's a classic. I recently stumbled over it, and was pleasantly surprised at how good of a read it was again. So You Want To Be A Pixel Artist -- I particularly like the chapters about removing the grid, studying the greats, and creating idle/breathing animations. So if you haven't read it before, it's a great look into what separates cheesy game art from the greats! --clint |

* bookmarked * Very nice. Speaking of pixel art, I just picked up a used copy of Final Fantasy Origins, for the PSX. It's basically FF I and II, with upgraded 2D art, every pixel expertly hand-crafted for my viewing pleasure. ------------------ |

How about Derek Yu's stuff. I think its more along the lines of taking pen-n-paper artist into the world of pixels, but I think he has some good pointers. God Bless! ------------------ |
