I am thinking of releasing a model pack of some low poly models that people can use for their early projects but still have quality models. Even though they will be very low poly, I will try to make detailed textures. Because lets face it, in a game, the texture makes the model. They also will come in 3DS, I would like to do .x files too, but Wings unfortunately doesn't export that format. Does anyone have any ideas of what you want in the model pack? I am asking people here because this is who I am making this pack for, the community. Altogether, I am putting 10 models in it from people's suggestions, and I *might* throw in some extra models of my own ideas. So I will take what I think is the best suggestions and comprise it into the 10 model list. I don't want to make animals or character models, something that has to be animated (I cant animate at the moment), but something that you can just use as is. I also can make plant models, but nothing that requires the texture to make the leaves, they will have be modelled, since I had some trouble getting it to work right with textures as the leaves. So the models won't very detailed. I will make buildings, but without interiors. And I won't make anything too specific.

Hey Lava! First off, that sounds like a great idea! You might be interested in checking out Low Poly Coop. They're just about to release their first free content pack of around 50 models, all urban decoration. They have a pretty wide variety of categories in their forums -- I think my favorite category in there is the Tavern. If nothing else, that might give you an idea of the other kinds of community free content packs that are going on. They also have a request forum there where you can see what other people have asked for. If you'd be looking for a place to host your models and textures, I'm sure Scott (the guy who started LPC) would love to help. He's a really cool guy, and hosts several content packs that other people have started. I know there's a building pack that someone else started on there, and there are a few other ones as well. Thanks for starting this, Lava! --clint |

I love the hawk you posted in the model dump thread. I was toying with the idea of making a bird flight simulator awhile back. That would be cool if that model ends up in the pack. |

How about a spaceship! I don’t know if I could use it for a game but it may be good for some renderings Here is one I made recently. It’s missing some decals but the hull texture is about how I wanted it for this low poly model I made. I’d suggest any space ship, does not need to be a war ship, even a scientific or cargo ship.
