Hey guys. I've been studying sculpture in art class and today I had to make a modelled sculpture. The whole thing really sort of evolved into something completely different than what I originally planned, but I think the final result turned out far better than I planned also. Anyhoo, I thought I post some pics and let you guys take a look. The second one is a little blurry, I guess I moved the camera or something there :S but the other two are pretty steady. Pretty much I'd like to know what it makes you guys think of or what does it remind you of just at first glance? *cough cough* too big, one sec Portia The Merchant of Venice [This message has been edited by Ereon (edited October 02, 2006).] |

I'm pretty sure that it is supposed to represent a human lying in Jesus' scarred hand. At least that was my first impression. Nice sculpture, Ereon! Lazarus |

Is that clay hardened? Or is it still soft? ------------------ |

Man, what's with all these hand sculptures? Edit: a mountain of clay buries the CCN's server in mud... Lazarus [This message has been edited by Lazarus (edited October 02, 2006).] |

There should just be a "Clay Dump" thread of some sort. Because recently (and coincidentially) I have been making some clay movies I could post links to here. ------------------ |

Looks good! When I first saw it, I thought of it representing the person at peace in God's hand. ------------------ |

Well, you guys pretty much nailed it right on the head. It's difficult to see from the limited angle of the shots, but it's actually a guy lying on a rock, and the dude and all his surroundings (represented by the rock) are all lying square in God's hand. It's really sort of a reminder to me of how good God's been to me in the past, how he's always had my back and pointed me back in the right direction again. The whole way it turned out is rather bizzare to me to be honest, it's just so different from what I was originally intended, but I'm glad with how it turned out, and I'm glad you guys like it. I might take some pics after it's hardened and give a little before and after. ------------------ Portia The Merchant of Venice |

Awesome! Wow, that is cool how it came together like that. I totally like the way you have it setup with the rock, and it all being in God's hand, what a way to express it! ------------------ |
