Hey All! I have found a cool site for getting some inspiration for creating video game music.. straight from japan. Its called muzie. Its a independent artists site and they all post their songs there. They have a whole category called Instrumental-Games! FYI, In the japanese dropdown list above the list of songs, select the third option to sort by popularity. That makes it easier to hear the "good" songs By default, you are looking at recent additions. http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/genre.cgi?id=anime Check it out! ------------------ |

That's a very cool site! I have all sorts of new music to listen to while surfing and coding now. Is there a certain program that is normally used to make this music? |

I normally use the free version of MadTracker. http://www.madtracker.org/ Thats what i wrote the bible dave jungle theme with. Also you can google for soundfonts and audio samples to get some instruments to work with. ------------------ |

Most people use Reason, it's about $500 I think. Dunno if that's what they use in Japan. Anyway, nice find Penny. Just when I was getting bored of all my music. |

Woah. Reason is cool but too rich for my blood! :P Check out Mint Jam. Their guitar solos totally rock. http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/artist.cgi?id=a011858 The songs lower in the list are better than the ones at the top. I can't vouch for their lyrics, but I can honestly say that I listen only for the music. (because I don't understand japanese ) ------------------ |

The site is a little cluttered, but I like some of the English song titles such as "Wishing to curse kindly" "grace with age color" and my favorite "The puddle in eyes". It's quite a task, programming a game, and creating art and music assets in two weeks. I used to use mod trackers a lot back in the day (11 years ago), but I'm a little rusty, now. ------------------ |
