Does any one use this authoring system? We made Axys with it and currently making Galedor with it, it's been my friend for 5 years it's gonna be hard to part with it... |

Why the glum tone? I thought you were going to continue using it -- are you guys ditching it after Galedor? It sounded like you really liked it. --clint |

Oh I didn't mean a glum tone I just wanna know who else uses it, I just feel lonely in using it that's all cause I don't know anyone else in the CGDC environment/culture that does :P btw clint what are you doing up so late? Nah I just know that at some stage we'll probably have to move on, but I could be wrong I don't know what's gonna happen in the future |

Yeah, I was sort of up all night coding. Often when I'm on vacation (it's 4th of July weekend and I don't have to go to work tommorrow) I get off on these programming kicks -- it's just something I really enjoy from time to time. I'm going to try and go catch a few hours of rest now though. Sorry for accusing you of being "glum" -- I was a little afraid because I thought you might have been told you couldn't work in it anymore and had to switch to Torque or something. G'night! --clint |

I've been a 3DGS user since around 2002. I don't use it a whole lot since making games takes a long time and I don't have any 3DGS projects atm. An old project if you want to check it out. You'll have to copy it and paste it to a new browser window for it to work though since tripod doesn't allow outside linking: [This message has been edited by Ashton_JX (edited August 16, 2006).] |

Yeah, from $50 to $900 depending on what edition you get. The best bang for your buck comes in the form of the commercial edition which sells for $200. Thanks for that Ashton! Your hareshooter game rocks! I loved it, reminds me of the good ol A5 days, and it was fun. You have some pretty good level design skills, I especially like your use of bsp geometry for that cave. |

Ah thanks . GameStudio, even version 5 is still a decent game development tool. It may not have all the latest technology and all, but it has all you need for making a fun game. The entire map was actually created in BSP since standard didn't support terrain. I think that with enough ingenuity, an old engine can still come up with some decent visuals. (well, nothing super realistic, but well for cartoon visuals I think its got all you need lol). [This message has been edited by Ashton_JX (edited September 10, 2006).] |
