God has gave me this awesome passion to create games and other software that can be used to reach the lost and let His word be heard all around the world for His glory! So that all those who spent their daily lifes in front of a PC may experience something new they have never imagined and that is hearing the Gospel of Christ!
Only by the wisdom and guidance that comes from the Lord it is bossible to serve Him. And I believe that all those who seek to do His will from all heart will be guided by the holy spirit.
It is not of our own wisdom and ideas that can be used to serve the Lord. But by asking God to show us our own path He has prepared for us, we may walk right in His eyes.

Has the Lord put to anyone else's heart that he/she should use programming skills and other computer skills to serve Him?

May God bless you all who keep His commandments and do His will.

I think to one extent or another, that's why most of us are on this forum.

yah, no offense or anything, but that is basically what the forum is about... oh duh of course....... you mean some specific calling on a person to do what you were saying... can't say i feel that calling...

I know exactly what you're talking about Jari, I feel that way also, quite often. There's a large opportunity there to reach people who have not be reached, and I think it's important to utilize whatever skills you're given. One of those is game design for me, and I think that every thing you have has been given for a purpose, and it's vital to use them.

It's great to see that we have common thoughts about this. But like buddboy said, I do in fact mean a specific calling and determination to put everything else aside and focus on doing the game.
Edit:
I have prayed lot that Lord shows me how does He want me to serve Him.

I really do want to, but I'm still in Highschool. I have started a savings account that I'm adding to, and I hope to use it to open my own programming studio after college. But until then I commit a large amount of my free time to working on games.

Own programming studio sounds like a good way to do games with right values and share the Gospel and make living, though I don't know how big is the market and how hard it's going to be. I am just developing in a low budjet home studio since I have no plans to sell the games, at least not the current one and I am blessed with free time that can be committed.

I wish I could do that too, and I would, but like Ereron I am still in highschool. A programming studio... what do you mean be that Ereron? I could make very good games using nothing but Blender and Torque...

Here's my dream for my programming studio some day. I'd like not just to have a programming studio where I could have established art, level, and coding compartments, but also have another facility set apart from it where kids could come after school. They could work on homework together, play games for free, beta test new games, and there would even be a restaurant where they could eat, talk with friends, and share and compare their own idea with each other and just be kids. I'd also like to have that facility open to other amateur game designers where they could place their own games in for beta testing, and possibly have some summer or regular school classes in programming, modelling, animation, and things like that for highschool and college students. In short a place where you can hang out, have fun, and just be yourself, kinda put the world on pause and just be you. THAT is why I need a whole studio .

You have big plans Ereon but what about God and Gospel?

He's the heart of it all Jari. People constantly think about how to "work" God into their games and plans. I take C.S. Lewis's point of view. You focus on your relationship with Him first, and make sure that flourishs, and then God just automatically begins to fill everything you do, whether it's a game or plan. Like it says in the Bible, in all your way's acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. It's all about Him in the first place. HE is the one who gives me my dreams and brings them to pass. I just keep my eyes on Him and make sure that I do just as He says.

Yeah, I really want to write and put God in the form of something tangible, I just don't get much opportunity because: A: No job B: >High School Education C: Not many people like "God" concepts D: I need specific "jobs"... If anyone knows anyone who needs a storyline, I can help out. I will find a way to get God out there...

Sounds like you got your values right Ereon!
So the Gospel is part of the studios theme and it's not just like any other studio? May God bless such facility if it does (and I believe it does) His will and that is spreading the word! It can be a blessing to those kids.

God blesses those who spread His word, Gospel. And by doing so we are not just hearers of the word by also doers. That's very inspiring since he who hears the word and does by it builds on a solid ground and he's building stands forever!

Today we could look at the symbolic meaning of noah's ark. Noah obeyed God and build an ark which saved his whole family. Noah job was not to just build that ark for his family and the animals but for all of us. And today we have an ark to build, where all who accept Christ are welcome to board. It's an everlasting ark, blessed by God.

Other perhaps more common figurative example is us as God's gardeners. There's lot of work to do, plant and water but God provides the growth.

I say this because it's very inspiring to think of the bossibilities how one can work for God like God has planned.

Part of the fun of God though is that He's NOT tangible....
