(spin-off from all of those art related comps) I have noticed there are a alot of REALLY good artists at this site. (and some good up-and-comers). anything goes, a complete art free-for-all. From logos to web graphics, from 3D Models to cartoons scanned from actual paper, anything goes. and, u dont have to make a new piece(s). Anything you have works, I guess we can vote towards the end. ------------------ |

gonna be part of my wallpaper... but oh well, why not? I don't come out with much work, so most you will see is repeats.

first of all, you guys have some awesome stuff. g4c , i had no idea you were a good artist. I knew arch was, but the thought that you might be didn't really cross my mind. I think DR told me once, but i thot she was just being all "gaga". well here is some of my mediocre artwork. all of the hand-drawn is almost two years old. i have some newer (better) stuff i will probably scan in soon. don't pick on me too much. (also, you may recognize alot of this stuff from elsehwere.) ------------------ |

LOL, thank Crazyishone, lol, I have been developing my artwork for the past 17 years of my almost 18 years of life, lol. So you thought DR was just saying that to be nice? Thanks, a lot of those pics are a few months/years old, lol. The most current one is probally the guy who i didn't finish so he has only one arm. Your 18? Im 15 and i've been drawing ever since i can remember. I used to draw dragons a lot, then people, then swords, and now... I just draw whatever comes to mind, lol. Do you have a link so I can see the ;arger versions of those pics? [This message has been edited by questleader (edited October 28, 2005).] |

lol, cool. I used to draw fantasy little knight things, lol... I do not know what they really are they are just very strange. But then I got into drawing weapons, and I have a million of 'em, lol. Then DR got me into drawing horses which I have a few pretty good ones, all of which I gave to her. Then I got back into drawing weapons and knights, and still horses, but I love drawing always have... it is like the one thing I can do to get my mind off of things. Ummm.. here is the link to the site with the bigger pics: ------------------ "A clever warrior |

Thanks for the compliments guys I have a brother and a sister who are artists (not professionaly) the brother does alot of drawings with colored pencils and the sister does more paintings, but does some drawings as well. Actually I have another sister who is a graphic artist as well, I forgot about that because she quit her career to raise her kids. My main artistic endevour has always been painting miniatures and that helped me alot with understanding shading and highlighting which then helps with drawing too. In the pictures I posted in here.. the first one of the two guys in red and blue was mainly just goofing around, and I was trying out a new type of colored pencil my brother had found which when used properly looks very rich and vibrant, as much as paint. The drawing I can't find (I'm still looking for it) was of a knight kneeling. The knight was finished, and I was going to draw the background as if he were in a church, I started on a stained glass window behind him but didn't finish it yet. I really liked that one because the knight's helmet was off and he was looking straight ahead at you, the face was the best job I've ever done on a face, which was also why I never got around to coloring it, I was afraid I would ruin the face. ------------------ |

I wanted it to be more of a place to...post yer artistic resumer, if you will. . also, it is nice to just throw stuff on without competing in a rule-based comp. best thing to do to learn art is to draw objects in the most relaxing place in your house our out side. and draw it and focus on these things *poportion (spelling ) by lines i mean what value does a certain line add. if you leave lines in your finished product you should be able to tell what each one does. just some things i picked up from art class. ------------------ |

Yeah, I'm self taught. I just like drawing so I do it all the time. The best thing you can do is find an artist that you like and attempt to copy or recreate their work. Don't trace. At first you may be disappointed with the outcome but don't quit. Basically I'm never satisfied with my work, and I don't suspect anyone to be 100% satisfied with their own stuff either. Here's my favorite artists. Most of that work is based off of them: [This message has been edited by CapnStank (edited November 13, 2005).] |

You use Strata I got into 3D because of Strata. I don't use it any more, but its a great program to learn some of the concepts of 3D with out really getting into true 3D. Keep it up, and when you feel limited by it move on to Cinema 4D or something like it. I use Cinema 4D and Maya right now, along with a scattering of other apps. Jeff ------------------ |

I also did the contiues background for her contents. It's all one leaf that took an hour to draw, and I minipulated in photoshop. ------------------ |

Angel, your a writer right? thats awesome. I started writing a story, but got writers block and never made it past the first chapter. I intend on finishing it someday, but not right now. Any tips you might be able to give? ------------------ |

Just write the first thing that comes into your head. You could try doing a NANO thing. Go over to www.christianwriters.com and they are currently doing it. The idea is to just sit down and keep writing no matter what untill you've got a novela within a month. Even some of the finist writers on the board their can't pull it off. I've done it once, but I don't care for the means. ------------------ |

I used to do alot of writing a while ago, write the parts that is more clear in your head, even if it's not the beginning of the story, in fact that's the hardest part of it all, did you know that writer who wrote Gone with the Wind wrote the ending first? I could see that, because the beginning of the story has to line up with the ending. ------------------ |

Hi Lava, I am very impressed by your Chess set. I would like to make one of my own. I wrote a chess program a while back and the graphics were very poor. I just downloaded POV-Ray. |
