As I am working on my journal tonight, I am working on the tutorial. Also, please let me know if you figure it out before I get the tutorial done. God bless you. [This message has been edited by cwc (edited October 05, 2005).] |

Its prob something simple, and I might be able to help you out real quick here on this message board. This way you might not have to wait so long for me to write a tutorial. What type of Link error are you getting? Also, how are you linking the lib??? The only lib you need to link is libIrrlicht.a. Also, If you are not linking to the right lib you might get a Link error stating [Linker error] undefined reference to `_imp___ZN3irr12createDeviceENS_5video13E_DRIVER_TYPEERKNS_4core11dimension2dIiEEjbbbPNS_14IEventReceiverEPKw' ld returned 1 exit status Is this the error you are getting?? Open up dev-cpp. Then go to the menu bar up top and select Project then Project Options. Once you do this a popup window will appear. Select the Parameters tap. Once you click this tap you will see an Add libray or Object button too your right and down under the list box. Before you click this button make sure you clear out the old irrlicht lib you might have in there. After you do this, click the Add Library or Object button. Then go too where your irrlicht-0.2.0 folder is located. Once insde the irrlicht-0.12.0 folder go to the lib folder. After you are inside the lib folder go to the Win32-gcc folder. Inside the Win32-gcc folder you will see a file call libIrrlicht.a . Highlight that file by clicking on it, and then click the open button. Once that is done, you should be back at the project option window. Now just click the Ok button that as a green check on it, and try to compile your project. [This message has been edited by cwc (edited October 05, 2005).] |

If we are talking about this error [Linker error] undefined reference to `_imp___ZN3irr12createDeviceENS_5video13E_DRIVER_TYPEERKNS_4core11dimension2dIiEEjbbbPNS_14IEventReceiverEPKw' ld returned 1 exit status Nope, far as I know that error only comes from linking to the wrong lib, or you are not linking to the lib at all, so to fix it you need to link to the right lib. I don't think I have time to re-write the tutorial again. I have midterm exams coming up next week, so my time right right now is a little tight. Follow the tutorial here Just link to the libirrlicht.a lib only in the win32-gcc folder Good luck and god bless you [This message has been edited by cwc (edited October 06, 2005).] |
