Angels vs. Demons is, naturally, a solid idea.
I've been thinking about that one for a while now.

Crusades I wouldn't want to go on too much. considering it wasn't that christian.

commanding hebrew armies is a good idea also.

a spiritual warfare one could work too. but... it's better suited for RPGs.
just use your imagination.

Well, the angels vs demons stuff is pretty neat I guess, but the thing is, in the bible it says that the evil is no match for the angels... so technically the game should be no fun... you know.. there you are, commanding gabriel to fight evil, and whoosh... gone is the huge army of evil things... victory... you'd finished the games in 10 minutes... and if you do make it compatative there is there a chance that evil might win... so does anyone have any angel and evil 3D models?

I thought about Joshua.. I mean, he fought a lot of battles, but most of his victories also came quite easy because God was with him... not to mention they slaughtered woman and children.. I wonder if I want to add that game element while taking over a city.

Well, the crusades aren't something to be proud of... so, no I wouldn't use that in a game.

you can create a fantasy universe (not necessarily wizards & goblins "fantasy, by fantasy i mean "alternate or not real").
One side can have the typical moral, hero feel to it, and the other side can have the evil feel to it. Consider lord of the rings...you can tell who is evil and who is good, and there are definite and obvious Biblical-style things implied.
I would steer away from Tolkien-style fantasy, tho. ITs been overused and is getting old. Creativity...with the classic good vs. evil army format.with the creation of a new fantasy universe, you can explore with new units and weapon ideas. That, I am sure, will be alot more fun to create than telling you artists to "make a few varieties of orcs....a few trolls..."
One "fantasy" idea could be a semi-futuristic game....
A small group of greedy treasure hunters, scientists, and researchers plans a trip to south america to search for (some random artifiact)...as they are going through the bermuda triangle by ship, their equipment and other electronics fail. They drift for days, and animosity grows, when they finally see and island and come ashore. The treasure hunters and the researchers had not been getting along, and a mutiny reveals itself. The treasure hunters and the resaerchers go their seperate ways. The scientists later find all of the treasure hunters' bodys....but their chests have been torn open. The area looks like there was a struggle.....

The researchers find natives, that happen to be friendly. The natives tell of this evil force that dwells in the inner area of the island.
You have to find out more about it, and find a way off the island. The natives say they know a way, but they will only help the scientists if they help them to defeat the evil force. (they consider you to be more than human).

Gameplay consist of alot of puzzles, using your scientist units to explore, resaerching new weapons and items/abilities, fighting the forces of the 'evil", while trying to learn more about it. Yu use the natives' warriors and various other units to fight. You could make any variety of units, from stealthy natives with poison darts and a knife (for recon), natives with spears and swrods, with slings and bows, scientists and natives with guns and any other items and weapons you can research and create.
So, as opposed to a civilization managment RTS, this would be a micromanagement/adventure RTS with a very heavy storyline, important to the game. Classic good v. evil.

Your idea Crazyishone sounds really good, I like the idea of new fantasy without getting too bizarre, and I 100% agree, Tolkien, Norse, Medieval or whatever you call it type of fantasy is getting too old, too fast.

okay, first off, just to spare any....questions, i am in fact a mormon. yeah, it is kinda like saying im gay, but im not gay, just mormon.....hmm, that came out the wrong way, anyway, my idea is kind of like a battlefield strategy (age of empires/ total war) where it is building cities on a smaller scale, but you can have the larger battles, this would work for any situation, but my idea (in my mormon ways) is for a book of mormon-style game. like with 2 main civilizations and a few smaller groups that pretty much duke it out over stupid conflicts. yeah, so if any of you guys are mormon you would know what im talking about.

Okay, that pretty much settles it, i am officially bad at making up games. Oh well. Man, now i dont have crazyishone here to guide me through all this like a baby.....hmmm, i miss him.

What do you think of a battle for the human soul. Angels vs. deamon is still possible.
