Missed this thread. It's been very interesting to see what they've managed to do with 3D Game Studio. I also think most people who don't have a background in software engineering underestimate how long it can take for such large projects. This can lead to despair and then giving up. Sounds like development is going well, but I'm more curious about the business side. Is TRP going to be self-published like TGS did with EW:SOL? It would be nice to see their game get on store shelves through a mainstream publisher. |

Yeah this project has been under development for a while. And it's looking really awesome now! I'm not too sure about how the publishing will work out. I'm sure Peter knows... Right now I'm actually working on some levels, and I'm really excited about them! For those who haven't, make sure you visit the homepage, here: There are even a couple of movie trailers to watch... a new one was released a couple months ago as well

I didn't realize you were working with them. I've been curious about one thing. On the website it says "Dynamic day/night cycles". Is this done like Morrowwind where a loading screen switches between day/night or are various lightmaps interpolated dynamically? Or are you guys doing completely dynamic per-pixel lighting? I'm not to sure how that actually works internally. But if I was, I'm not in the position to say exactly how. It does look cool though.
