Ok, I had this good idea. Why don't we make a post where people who have ideas that they can't utilize can place them. Kind of like an inspiration exchange. So, I this is the result. If you have any ideas (game ideas, music inspiration, character names, spare drawings, code snippets, anything that you won't make use of and are willing to turn loose) or other material that others may find useful, post it here, that way, hwhenever you hit a mental block, or need an exciting idea, you can come here and look around. P.S. Just for kindness sake, it might also be wise to only partially use someones idea, or modify it to make it mostly your own, that way other people can use it too, and it still stays original and fresh. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, heres an idea I had once, but never used. I got kinda pissed about the way people made top down car games so you can go from 0 to 100000000 miles an hour as fast as you can hit the gas. SOOOOOO I came up with the idea of having the car accelerate a certain amount per frame... its actualy kinda easy... if you make something like this PLEASE do this. ------------------ I dont like siggys. I really like the bible verses idea, but it would have to be done very well for it to work, otherwise it would come across very cheesy and probably become irritating to the player. And would have to watch the mis-quoting scripture as mentioned, but with prayer and the guidance of mature, bible learned christians it could work. Hmmmm, how to fit that into my fun combat flight sim game....!! Rhy |

Ereon, that is an excellent idea... I am of no great skill, but I'd be thrilled to help in whatever way I could. I'm sure much help is abound on the rest of the CCN, too. A parameter to add to the prayer/meditation bit: real-time events, i.e. day/night cycles, requiring rest at night etc., maybe even also having choices that could be made that invoke the computer-sim-lord's anger upon the player just to add the full spectrum of things. Anything to prevent macroing And also, as was said and agreed through and through... much care with the verses... I'm assuming you mean reading back the actual Biblical accounts of these battles as victory ensues, etc. I'm unsure of how to go about his pming business... hopefully you will check this thread again? haha. nice idea Ereon. I had a very similar idea also, like Arch said, where you are one of Davids mighty men and you go through the history of biblical Isriel. You could even have a thing at the begining of each level where you could choose which one you want to be, kind of like in the lord of the rings games ------------------ |

well, i got a cool idea... what if there was this game, where you are this really phenomenal hacker and you are hacking, when you see this file, and you open it. it's a pastor's computer, and it's an old sermon. you are about to close out in disgust, when something catches your eye. 'jesus loves you. i don't care who you are, jesus loves you' (or something of the like)so he reads the whole thing, and gets saved. then he stops being a hacker. but years later, his country is in danger because major businesses are becoming corrupt and gathering mercenaries for a civil war in the country (don't ask why all this is happening, somewhat undeveloped idea lol) you are a group of believers who are watching your country go down the drain... you decide to try and stop it... you have to feed either side of the country info about the other side that you retrieve by hacking... you can choose which side to ally with, and change at any time... you just have to be careful which side... you can win with either side, just a different story depending on which side, what info you uncover, etc. you could have some 3rd person parts where you have to relocate due to signal tracing or hideout discovery... i hope somebody uses this idea because i can't and i would hate to see it go to waste lol... ------------------ |

Thanks Crazy, I was just about to say something about that  .Great idea BTW, buddyboy. Reminds me a bit of Deus EX. Just without the killing and the other mature content. It would be awesome if, you are trying to hack into a computer, and then someone is trying to shut you down, so you've got to take down his computer before he can get yours. Or maybe someone infects your computer with a virus and it will take you time to get it running again, so you've got to run down the hall to another computer to complete some task before the time runs out.
