Depends, if it's violence against humans i'm not at all keen. But if you were blasting demons and things then, why not.

Is all violence wrong? I think not. Even in Biblical days there was violence, even by Jesus. Didn't He throw out the money changers from the temple? Was He not the very picture of violence as He hung on the cross? He died a cruel death! And thank God He rose again! I think that we all have to make a stand for certain things in our lives even to the point of violence, if necessary, and Godly justifiable. I don't think all violence is wrong.

[me] hides the 2d version of Dark Afterlife and whistles[/me]

Well in the new version the only things that you have to kill are deamons and possesed soals, also maybe a few really really evil people. But I have got to think of a way around being able to use your weapons in the city beacuse I want to have pedestrians (women, man, children alike) walking around but I also want some of the battles to be in the city. :s

[edit]Oh right ubb code is different?[/edit]

Violent games don't bother me, over excessive or violent glorification games bother me however. You can't really have a 'semi-violent' game per say, if the game has violence in it (no matter what amount) it would be considered violent due to that content. The only real non-violent games are puzzle-style games and even then the player can express violent emotion if they get frustrated. You can control your games content, but you can never 'completely' control the person playing the game.

Violent:
Marked by, acting with, or resulting from great force
Having or showing great emotional force
Marked by intensity; extreme
Caused by unexpected force or injury rather than by natural causes
Tending to distort or injure meaning, phrasing, or intent

Yeah.. I personally have no problem with Violence,.. more of the nature of violence.. if you're killing innocent people, I'd probably object to that.
I personally don't get affected by violence in movies or games.. I play and watch them all the time, but never came close to hitting someone.. well, okay.. this one cousin of mine, but that's different...

D-SPL: Blasting Demons... oh yeah!

RainMan: It does depend more on the motive of the violence

Psyco:nice avatar.. me like

Mack: wow... everygame I'm gonna make is probably gonna be violent.. cool with me, actually

Oh boy, the question no-one really wanted to ask, but thanks, I've recently wanted to discuss this hot potato. I don't really care about violence in games per se, but the actions that go with violent games I do enjoy. As an example, I love zooming in and making a difficult headshot, or accurately tossing a grenade, or learning new room take-down tactics and trying them out (yes, I'm a military shooter fan). As for the violence/gore I just either laugh at or don't really care about. But I have no doubt that some people (especially kids) will be affected by violence in games, and just like the lesson for Peters regarding eating unclean foods, I am careful about involving impressionable minds in such activities. As a developer though, what chance have you got of making a game that's going to sell in a Christian book shop, if it's got blown away skulls and limbs on the cover.
On a side note, I was just recalling yesterday, the story of the guy who's concubine was raped to death, so he chopped her up and sent her out to all the tribes. That resulted in the virtual extinction of a complete tribe of Israel (can't remember who it was now?). Imagine that for a game concept!!
