Ok, I like many Christians would like to memorize scripture. Now I have a hard time with it. But through my study of how the brain works I know that when you mix fun and creativity to repetition you can remember just about anything. Hence the reason why allot of people can remember songs. My proposal is that we make a small little game that you can customize with verses you want to remember. Doesn't have to have a story line or anything just a game to help memorizing scripture. I am aware that there are a few games like that out there right now. But have you seen how much they cost? The second part of the proposal is that it be free and a CCN exclusive. Maybe written in blitz basic. Maybe in shockwave. That really don't matter. The development time should be short comparitively. Now I am aware of the other projects going on. So I would like to make this a side project. Just need some general ideas for now. Again nothing extravegant. Just like as basic as space invaders. Anyhow, Lets here them ideas. _Freq47 |

Hi Freq, I had seen some software in the past for Windows. It would bring up your verse on startup I believe and would even let you try to remember it (by typing it in). Nothing fancy at all and not really "game" oriented, but I apologize that I can't recall the name. Are there any visual basic programmings in CCN land? I only heard about BlitzBasic by signing up here, so would have the learning curve to come up. Or one of use could focus on "designing" versus programming. Let's work on the "fun" factor in order to make this successful. We could review a few verses (or let the people pick them), then show it minus a few words. Let them guess the missing words (either typing or multiple guess - maybe structure it to match the age of the player). If they guess correctly, something advances (like more building stones on the great temple or launching of the space shuttle). Just one thought. Let the Lord bless it! Tim ------------------ |

Hi Guys. The game I made to help you memorize scriptures can be downloaded from http://www4.tpgi.com.au/makunz/games/Setup_Shareware_Memory_Gem_Blocks.exe I am still working on this game to allow you to choose any verse or chapter in the Bible to play. But we could try to create something else - though I have racked my brains to try and figure out another type of fun game to help you memorize scripture. Anyway, I would like to be a part of it. What about having a shooting game, and different words fly across the screen and you have to shoot the next word in the verse. Then give the reference at the end as a clearance to the stage. _Freq47 |
