Don't mind me, I just learnt of this site from a friend of mine. I'd never thought I'd ever see a geeky Christian site. I'm a kinda hippy Christian geek myself, still struggling on after years of abuse from churches and cults but nevertheless still a believer. I'm also into Greenbelt (waaaaay!!!) so I'm a bit of a rebel aswell. Anyways, bless ya all, and peace man. ------------------ -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- |

Welcome aboard fellow beleiver! I was just as shocked as you were to find a christian programming site! It was awsome. And yeah, don't let the rather heavy discussion going on phase you, I don't think we are bible picking verse ramming people, we just found something to discuss for a change, rather than the lexical grammer of c++ Welcome here! Yes, welcome to this great site. I've only signed up in the last few days, even though I knew the existence of this site for months. Hope you enjoy it - all about Christian computer game programming and stuff - I'm sure you will put in your ideas - and as far as I'm concerned - the more the merrier. Revelator! ------------------ |

Yeah, welcome! But please don't use the negative term "geek" when describing us and this site. Some of us may be a little sensitive to that kind of thing. †Caleb† |

Just so ya know, I'm not sensitive about it! I'm a geek. I'm skinny, talk about computers, and have a geek's bad posture from too many long nights at the computer screen. I'm trying to correct that last bit though. Phil |

Greetings. I'm the guy working on an RPG, and trying to decide if i will use violence in my game. Sorry you came right now, usually our discutions are much more light hearted @_@ What kind of coding do you do? I'm into gaming design, mostly RPG stuff, tho i got a few ideas for a 3D missionary game.... Anyway, i'm a Nerd i guess, but it dosn't bother me, cause I'm secure in the fact that God lives in me, and for ever weakness i have, God fills that weakness with His strength. I'm mighty in him, and not much account without God. Welcome, hope you'll get encouraged and be blessed by this group. -Veritech |

Geeks of the world unite! Dyslexics of the world untie! Geekdom is a very cool thing, IMO. I've been trying and trying for the last, erm, <sigh>, 15 years to achieve that state. Slowly but surely I will arrive ;P Welcome aboard! -Krylar |

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Veritech: *snip* Actually not much. I tried Linux C programming but I kinda got stuck along the way. I am writing a game though using the TGF game engine designer but imo it's not that great for writing games. Instead I've got my head into web and graphic design and am doing my own business in it. I guess in one sense I'm more of a git than a geek. But I've got my head around Linux, sort of. ------------------ -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- |

geekgirl, First of all, welcome! I think you'll find CCN to be a warm, accepting place. I look forward to hearing your input on some of the threads that have been around for a while. Secondly, I looked at your website, and I must say it is one of the most informative websites that I'v come across in a long time. Thankyou for your willingness to share your experiences with everyone. My parents had a cult background also, and your story sounds very much like their stories. Praise the Lord that He delivered you out of there! Hopefully it will contribute to our cult-proof factor (if one can indeed be cult-proof,..., Well, I think so, a verse in Ephesians 4 and one in James comes to mind). Thirdly, I looked at your favorite music section. Very cool selection I say! Delirious (look forward to hearing more of their old-style again), dcTalk (my favorite song is "What If I Stumble" followed by "Red Letters"). I don't think that I've heard of the others but that's cool. Looking forward to hearing more from you, joeG |

When will they add Jesus to the geek code? The letter 'J' is free, after all. What will people say when they hear that I'm a Jesus Geek? I'll tack mine on the end. -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- |

I however do not consider myself a "geek" I am not short (I'm 6'4") and I'm not skinny. I am down right insane. (omnious laughing) ------------------ |

Hi, geekgirl101,Rat, pleased to meet you! I think this place totally rocks!! It's nice to know you're not the only person who wants to use video games to serve Christ. It's amazing that you can actually meet people from all over the world(!) here to share your beliefs and hopes with; and they really understand! Have a great time! ------------------ |
