This story is quite grizzly, so some of you might not want to click the link to the story. For the rest of you, click here. The response of the Church in Turkey has been amazing, and I believe, will bear much fruit.

Never Forget to Pray!

"...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer. Pray for prayer---pray till you can pray; pray to be helped to pray, and give not up praying because you cannot pray, for it is when you think you cannot pray that you are most praying. Sometimes when you have no sort of comfort in your supplications, it is then that your heart---all broken and cast down---is really wrestling and truly prevailing with the Most High."
Charles Haddon Spurgeon, from the pamphlet, "Effective Prayer"

i don't find it much of a coincidence that the leader of the attackers fell to his death trying to escape(if read that right). i don't understand how people can be so filled with hate and rage by hearing a gospel of truth. i also believe the church will grow a lot now.

proverbs 17:28
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

proverbs 25:7
open rebuke is better than secret love.

I did not read the article but you were wondering why people hate the truth:
Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

He fell, but he's still alive(barely, it seems).

I know the Bible says to rejoice when you are persecuted but - I don't see much to rejoice about here.

Yes Lazarus, the good thing is that he is on God's side, which is why he is persecuated and which is why it's rejoicable - not the suffering but that he is in the light, that the darkness hates.

Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

there are 2 reasons
A) persecution is Satan's way of trying to derail you, but in doing so he proves God's word---you wouldn't have that much opposition to it if it was fake.
B) WHen you are persecuted in Jesus' name--you get greater rewards in Heaven--Jesus makes several references to this throughout the book of John

so that is why--sad situation, but Jeuss still rules in the end.
