well, i can talk now. one story i know of is about a missionary named David Hogan. he ministers in south america. one day he went to this village where there were all these sorcerors. he went into this hut to pray for this woman somebody had asked him to pray for. he looked at her back and she had what looked like horns jutting out. he prayed for her and left the hut. he then started to walk out of the village. he came to the gate to go out and it opened by itself. they walked out. it closed by itself. then, from behind the gate came a giant fireball. it went through the gate and kept coming at them. they began praying and it got really close. finally, it stopped, stayed for a moment, and then with a bang shot over the distant mountains. a while later, at least one year, he was in a village and he was at a church and there was this woman dancing around and signing loudly. he talked to her after and it was the woman he had prayed for!! i have a few other stories i can't think of totally right now.... hope to put some more here when i remember them!! ------------------ |

i know.. it's true!! it's very real and very true... don't believe me? fine then!! lol, but seriously, it's true. sounds weird, but true. there's another one about a missionary who went to an island somewhere in the atlantic ocean, nearer to africa. well there were these witch doctors who challenged the bible and him and said that the bible says that we can move mountains. the witch doctors said, 'well come on then move a mountain.' and they pointed at a distant mountain. he said he would do it the next day because they said they would believe if he did it. he prayed all night and the next day he came out, knelt in the middle of all the people, and said, 'God, i know you can move this mountain. and i know you want these people to be saved, so move this mountain.' (or something like that) there was a big rumble, and in the distance, the mountain moved visibly!! the witch doctors were furious, but many people were saved. you can believe that one or not if you want to! ------------------ |

would it not have been better to explain that the "moving of mountains" is usually metaphorical? ------------------ |

yes but the witch doctors had a hold over the villages and also, it was not the time for a theological debate, especially considering the outcome, i mean, the mountain did move! ------------------ |

just remember that some of those stories are not so far from propaganda. anyway, didn't mean to be a pessimist. (Just what I perceive as being a "realist".) ------------------ |

crazy, some of them are, things do get exagerated, but in reality, every day in the world there are miracles and situations as crazy and proposerious as that one. I have witnessed some myself. and know many more one degree of seperatation (i.e i know somebody well , who personally witnessed) ------------------ |

this is a cool story i was there for... My dad was a pastor at a church in Florida. One lady came up to the altar and asked us to pray for a baby that she knew that had a blood disease, didn't specify. Well, my dad prayed for her and rebuked the blood disease. The lady came back a week or two later and said that the baby had had AIDs from her mom, and that they took her to the doctor and couldn't find any sign of AIDs in her!! She was totally healed and is still alive, about 2-3 years later! I have a couple more, can't talk now! ------------------ |
