I had an idea recently that we could have an annual awards ceremony for the showcase entries entered each year on CCN. We wouldn't have prizes, but it would be recognition for the work, and I could even whip up some 3D Trophy Models if needed. For games we could have different categories similar to the SpeedGame: like graphics, fun and stability. Then for applications: most intuitive interface, usefulness, and stability. I think it would give people initiative to not only make stuff for competitions but throughout the year as well and get noticed for it. I think this is an excellent suggestion. Not only is it a bit of motivation (much like the Talk is Cheap thread), it is also a great way to recognize the hard work and creative ideas people have demonstrated over the year. ------------------ |
