I thank God for this site. I am in an environment that is not exactly God-friendly. It would be safe to say I am the only Christian out here. But I am learning a lot about programming games from people who are legends in the industry. As always, God has a plan. This is a great way for me to get some fellowship. The Lord never gives us more than we can handle. But, he sure pushes you to the limit sometimes. As long as I know he is there, it will all be just fine. Anyway, I digress. This is my first time on a discussion site. I never really felt the erge to join until now. God bless you all and keep you!

Fantastic! I have a lot of coding problems. I like to try and figure them out myself, but in the gaming industry, it isn't always an option, because time is short. BTW, I'm coding for the GBA mostly right now. It is really fun! Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you all!

Well, the scorpions and I are at war. Let's just say I really, REALLY miss Florida! I don't want to say bad things about your birthplace.

Oh, Texas wasn't my birthplace... Guaging on the scorpions I'd guess you live in west Texas? It's a big state, climate and stuff varies a lot depending on where exactly you live. I have relatives in Houston and some had lived in very south Texas, and I lived near Dallas. I hear Florida is pretty nice though

I live just east of Dallas. It is a little town called Quinlan, I'd be very surprised if you have ever heard of it. It is very small.

You're right, never heard of it We lived in the Fort Worth area so it was pretty citified, no scorpions but lots of cockoroaches, fire-ants, and mosquitoes I've always imagined Florida as being a lot like Houston, humid and pretty warm all year, never been there though...

It is actually less humid in Florida. But, the temp is about the same, it doesn't get as cold there, and I don't think it is as hot there either (may be the lack of humidity). It rains almost everyday there, but the cool thing about it is, the sun shines right through the rain. And it only rains for like a half hour or so. Lots of rainbows because of all the sunshine. I really think that is why I love it so much, I love the sunshine and the rainbows! There are a lot of mesquitoes, but everthing is screened in there. Almost every house and apartment has screened porches. So, I really notice more bugs here.

Hi all!
I'm glad to be a newbie here also. I had no idea that anything of this sort existed - but now it's the one site I look forward to visiting everyday. The fellowship I've seen already here is awesome, not to mention the testimony to and acceptance of our non-Christian friends.

I praise God that CCN is here and I look forward to meeting everyone (whether online or in another fashion ) someday!

I'm an independent developer - or something like that heheh.
I was led to search for Christian game developers online just a few days ago - game development has become an area I feel strongly that the Lord has led me to be a servant in. I found the TwoGuys interview and then found CCN and I didn't hesitate to jump in with both feet

I'd like to learn about the professional or other Christian game developers that are out there - if anyone can provide me any info I thank you. I'm learning the various roles of game design; I started a modification team for a popular FPS game about 2 years ago and have been involved in each stage of the process - coding, modeling, texturing, etc. - all through self-motivation. I admit I'm not an expert in any of those areas, but I'm working on that

Yes, I'm a Christian - and am a Father of 2 (soon to be 3), and my wife has been very supportive of my sometimes obsessive late-night development sessions (she is a blessing indeed).

Ok - I need to calm down before I type an autobiography here heheh.

God Bless,
Matt 'Nfektious' Teboe

Howdy Ginger,

A belated welcome to the board. (Been wallowing in my own self-pity too much and haven't visited the board in ages.)

There is a great bunch of people here.

I am glad to see a fellow former Floridian as well. I lived 8 years in the Tampa/Clearwater area and I loved it for the most part.

I hope you enjoy it here at CCN and I apologize in advance for anything I may say or do that offends you. (I generally have that effect on people.)

Yeah Brice, don't be too hard on yourself. Heck, we love a good debate, and i don't really think you could offend many people on this board.

Good to see you back mate!

Brice, I have pretty tough skin, so don't worry about me I'll take you words as the opinion they are meant to be, and trust you mean no harm Be yourself and I will accept you for that. I look forward to the debate, I love to talk about God and Jesus! I'm glad to have coders to talk to about Him!
