For everyone's information, it is a QuickTime movie that is 12 Megs zipped. So have a fast connection and/or use something like Download Accelerator.

Mack -

From your story page at the web (pasted below), I gathered that this is all in John's mind. I think that lends justification for the fantastic nature of the critters the main character from the movie battles (the intent is to portray demons, right?).

Questions:
The flashes of red when struck are meant to be blood or other?
Any ranged weapon for the Hero?
Will the Hero start out with all the armor and weapons?
Multiplayer?
Game engine?
You taking the level approach?

I will definitely give the game a try when it is ready although this movie paints a bit more violent game than I typically enjoy (are you trying for Quake-like level of intensity?)

May God be with your development

-Story-

What's inside the human mind? What if we were able to probe the very workings of our soul and see what elements of the light and darkness affect our very existence? Take the horrifying journey into the mind of the college student, John Coronado. Demons, pain and a horrible past will come into light as you try to survive the nightmarish tasks ahead for you.

Partly insiprited by Hell House, Eternal War takes you on an insane journey though the mind of a desperate person who's willing to take desperate measures to solve his problems.

Your correct, the game does take place all in Johns mind and the story dwells on my own personal experiances with sucidial depression and how God reached out to me through my Fiance.

The flashes of red when struck are meant to be blood or other?
The Quicktime movie had a hard time compressing the screen when it turned red (thus sometimes you can see the screen going partly red, or sometime red pixels). When you get hit the screen it flashes red, indicating that you we're struck. There is no blood in Eternal War.

Any ranged weapon for the Hero?
Yup, about 5-6

Will the Hero start out with all the armor and weapons?
No, Max will start off with some default weapons/armour and later on in the game you'll find additional weapons/manna to help you out. This is for the gameplay sake of things, the game would be less fun if you started off with all the big weapons.

Multiplayer?
Yes

Game engine?
I cannot give out that information at the current time.

You taking the level approach?
Yes

Actually yes, Eternal War is pretty intensive laced with a dark story with a non-Bible thumping outreach. I've posted about Eternal War on secular gaming boards and we've gotten alot of good feedback on the video and screenshots. Depending on your term for violent, Eternal War will have no blood, no gore, no swearing or even remotely revieling clothes. I don't think it's violent, I think it's more intensive than anything.

Thanks for your questions Tim!

Thanks for the answers Mack.

I'm definitely interested in trying it. I'm glad you are getting good feedback from secular boards. You'd probably get more feedback here if it wasn't such a big download! If anyone wants the quicktime movie, I'd be glad to put it on a CD-R & mail it to you. Mack probably would too. Just send me an email at graceworks@bigfoot.com or tim@graceworksinteractive.com .

If I had more free time, I'd offer beta testing help. Go ahead and ping me when you are close, I may be in a lull at that time.

May the Lord bless your efforts!

thought you might like to know that the 2 sits that your info loads through are both
totally "cable tv" compatible

oh yeah, the screenshots are most impressive - as good as any from QUAKE II that's for sure...

I checked out the story too, it's brief but intriguing...

cable tv rules are www.digitalcabletv.co.uk/html/guidelines/f_javascript.html

christian coders, blitzcoders and your sites definitely comply
but www.blitzbasic.com and others do not, denying access to the increasing thousands of people who now
go on line ONLY via cable tv! strange I know but now you don't NEED a PC to get online

...errr....sort of......for example...I couldn't check out for "movie"

anyway.....good luck with your project....did it get on TV yet? What was the exposure like?

Thanks for your comments and input Chiefy. We haven't gotten any bad press with Eternal War at all and just positive feedback and emails. The video has been accepted very well by the general population and people who have seen the screenshots or have seen the beta in action have expressed positive feedback.
