Wow, this honestly really brightened this code monkey's day. I've had a hard week wrestling with frustrating code monkey problems, and this song hit me at just the right spot.

Thanks.

Much rather wake up, eat a coffee cake
Take bath, take nap
This job "fulfilling in creative way"
Such a load of crap

And the part about the "big warm fuzzy secret heart" -- that was great. I really like this Code Monkey, and he seems like a really cool guy that I identify with a lot.

I don't know that I've ever bought an MP3, but I'm really tempted to buy this one.

Lol, I just read a flamewar over on the TGC forum about beer. The Don't-Drinkers were outnumbered by the Do-Drinkers by about 100 to 3.

Boston Coolers for everyone! <also holds his root beer high aloft with RM>

Thank you for brining this post back to life!
I enjoyed that this guy has the guitar tab for his songs!
Maybe that's another forum. But nothing like a coding guitar player!

LOL that's hilarious!!! "This job “fulfilling in creative way”
Such a load of crap" lol, that's funny. I've never heard this guy before, but I like his songs (except for the occasional profanity).

yeah. "this job 'fulfilling in creative way',
what a load of crap"

he's funny.

I love these two lines:

"With warm fuzzy secret heart:
Code Monkey like you"

and these two:

"You say no thank you for the soda cause
Soda make you fat"

that song is funny yet awesomely true at the same exact time.

For everyone who is a fan of the Code Monkey in their warm fuzzy secret hearts, Quick Stop Entertainment is hosting a Code Monkey Remix Contest. Entrants have until Dec 9th to remix their own version of Jonathan Coulton's song Code Monkey and submit them to vie for autographed box sets of Jonathan's entire "Thing A Week" project awarded to the top 5 mixers. Even if I don't get a mix done in time, I'm still looking forward to expanding my music library with more versions of my favorite Jonathan Coulton song. Horray!

So Cool, thanks Han for the update. I needed a break from my long list of projects so I created a speed metal version remix of the song

Wow Kenman -- that was really cool! At first I thought it was just a sped-up version of the original, but the overlay of the original guitar track with the riffs and shreds is pretty sweet. I'm honestly seriously impressed with how quickly you remixed that!

I wrote a verse for Code Monkey from the secretary's perspective. I'm thinking of getting Jennifer to sing it for me, but I don't know that I have time for a full add-a-verse-remix-project right now.

I just love how you shred into the guitar -- this is definitely staying in my library too.

yeah i actually like that better than the original. i mean it's the same lyrics and voice, just new style in the music. if it were slowed down just a tad so it's easier to understand, it'd be even better.

Hey, they posted the winners of the code monkey remix, pretty cool remixes

http://www.quickstopentertainment.com/?p=2784

Don't think placing 4th was too bad either. There was some pretty intense competition. Wouldn't dare say I only spent about 2 hours on this.

I'm downloading the other mixes now, just to try and see why they didn't give you top prize.
