AVATAR WAR #2
please read the whole post, so you know everything you need to know for the compotision

ok, Here we are for the second Avatar War!!!! wewt!!!

ok, this time for the judging we have the first and second place winners of last round:

firemaker103
capn'stank

please post your avatar in the form of:
[ IMG ]picture_url.png[ /IMG ]

you can use http://www.imageshack.us/ to host your avatars if you need to.

also, since last time we did general avatars, this time we are going to have a theme:

Cartoons!

judges, give 6 awards: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, funniest, cutest, and most artistic. If a avatar doesn't have anything to do with the theme, please don't give it an award. we want people to play by the theme

The Ending Date is: 4th November (edited) 2005, remember, all avatars must be 64x64

finnally, if anyone has any ideas for the theme of the next AVATAR WAR, feel free to post them.

now, go and design some cartoon avatars

thanks,

kiwee

What do you mean by cartoons? Cartoons as in crazyishone style cartoons?

If I were you, I would make a more standard and stylized stick figure, one that can be drawn easily from memory, like the Apple logo. I would also make it instead of a solid figure, one that has a border around it would be cool. I could post an example if you would like.

I still don't know if my avatar is cartoony enough if It isn't then I'll drop out cause I'm terible with graphics.
I guess God made me better at programming.

EDIT> You do know that the Signature war starts 7 days after the Avatar war (that would make it the 21st).

lava, that would be cool. I really didnt deliberately make my stick figure for an avatar. It was a pic i made in about 10 seconds to give my site some supporting content. I was ranting about LucasArts or ILM or something.

remember if any of the judges (firemaker103, and capn'stank) wants to drop out of being a judge that is fine.

Ah, I see... the reason I asked was because I thought... I think for the names contest, or whatever, you had everyone selec their favorite, and then someone tallied them up, and gave the winner, lol. so then it is all up to the judges? I'm fine with either way, I enjoyed making my avvy entry anyway, lol

yeah, it is up to the judges, next time it might be up to a vote, (that means that everyone can join in)

This looks like a cool comp. I will give it a try myself, can anyone recommend the best free software for creating a cartoony effect on a windows XP system?

I think i'll just use paint and use a resizer from http://www.jql.co.uk/avatarsizer.htm. Hopefully that will do the job.

Use the GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/). It's what I used and it rocks (even though my garphics don't)
