Hi guys, haven't been around much lately, but popped in to spread the word about some free stuff. My coding seems to revolve around the retro gaming remake world, and I just entered a couple of my creations into www.remakes.org annual coding competition, as did many other people. The proceeds from the competition are about 80 new remakes of the old classic console/home computer games, and all are freely downloadable from the above-mentioned website. I won't plug my own 2 entries, but I will say the quality of all the entries range from awesome, down to garbage, though the rubbishy ones are the exception and most are very enjoyable.
Anyway, enough from me, get downloading if you wish, or alternatively, all the games will feature on Retro Gamer's magazine coverdisk in the not too distant future.

Cheers,Jas.

The competition is closed, the entries are now in the judging phase, but all are available for download as of now. Ok, I will own up and say that my games were Potty Pigeon (someone else also did another version of this one too), and Boxing.

Funny thing is, I'm pretty much an anti-boxing sort of guy, but making/playing it on computer is quite appealing to me

my reviews:

1. i downloaded the one called "nam", i didn't like it at all...i got killed before i even phased the other guy.

2. i downloaded the pipedreams type game, and it stunk. they changed it too much from the original, i like the original.

3. i tried the boxing one. it was actually the funnest one i played.

I agree, some of them are terrible. I haven't checked all, but here's a couple that I think are quite good:

Re-generation
Potty Pigeon (Check both versions as both have their appeal)
BattleCity
Beachhead (very authentic)
RiverRaid
F1-Spirit
and of course Boxing...but you already knew that
