what was the very first game that you own/owned? for me, it was either "First Shapes" for the C64 or Super Mario Bros 2 for NES |

Solitare. Ones that you buy... Probably Backyard Baseball. First SW game: Lego SW. Next SW game: TIE vs. X-Wing. (This year). ------------------ |

Owned personally would be SMB/DuckHunt for NES. I spent a summer earning cash mowing lawns to buy my own since my parents couldn't afford it. All the earlier ones for our C64 were to be shared with my many siblings. EDIT: Let me tell you, personally owning an NES offered a LOT of leverage in the sibling rivalry realm! ------------------ [This message has been edited by samw3 (edited January 25, 2007).] |

Wait, my first game might have been F-Zero X on the N64. One of the best games ever on that console. At first it was a family thing, but my dad and my mom had the most access, and my dad would win mostly. Then when I got older, I got in practice time. I figured out how to win more ships, and regardless of my ship, I would win. Thats the problem with being good, no one wants to play with you. ------------------ |

Ahh.... Super Mario Bros. On... what was it, the NES? The ones with only a d-pad and an a and b buttons? First game I played... still my favoirte (OR it would be, if we still had the system) simple, yet addicting and long. I loved that game... And nobody can forget the classic... *DUCK HUNT* man that was a great game too! What, like one of the first vidoe game systems and it had a gun with a lazer sight that actually WORKED? I mean comon, you havn't seen those for a PS1,2, or 3, have yoU! That was what, somtime in the 50s?! Too cool to be true... and now look at the Wii... great... just great! Nintendo rocks... ------------------

Yes, Kenman, I remember the old Pong set. My mom used to leave me playing it at Sears while she shopped. Yep! You used to be able to leave your kids alone without worrying about them. Although I grew up during all the Atari and Intellevsion stuff, my parents NEVER let me get one. Good thing my friends had them. So, it wasn't until we got our Commodore 64 that I bought my first game. What that is...I don't remember. But I'm guessing it MAY have been "Castle Wolfenstein", the original, not 3D, Return, or any of the newer ones. I had played it on the Apple II and knew I wanted it when I got the Commodore. I can still remember heading to Toys R Us and pointing up to it where the sales person had to bring it down. Aaaahhhh...I can still remember the infamous "You're caught" in all its scratchy, computerized voice glory. |

quote: Ha! My first game was also SMB. My parents couldn't buy me a NES, either, so I got a paper route to pay for it. My parents did help me with the paper route, so they certainly contributed. I've been spending my money on video games since. ------------------ |

jestermax Member Posts: 1064 From: Ontario, Canada Registered: 06-21-2006 |
i think i've flat out beaten maybe 21 of them? i'm a fair ways through a whole bunch more though. i can tell you something wicked about each of them (so its not like i collect them and don't know what they're about). on the downside though, a couple of them i couldn't play because my ps2's reader is getting screwed up |
